2/1

Made up into a smart hurdler last term, a campaign that culminated in a listed handicap success at the Punchestown Festival. Made a much better fist of things than on chase debut when second in a beginners' event on return at Kempton and this former point winner is open to improvement over fences.

Age: 6| Weight: 11-4| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 143| BF| CD

4/11

Useful bumper winner who didn't do much wrong over hurdles last term, finishing a fine second in a Grade 1 Aintree novice during the spring. Recent chase debut third in a Grade 2 at Newbury was a promising start over fences and his future in this sphere looks bright. Hood refitted.

Form: 14212-3

Forecasts

Regent's Stroll (4/11), Jeriko Du Reponet (2/1)

Matches are not usually particularly intriguing but this is an exception, with REGENT'S STROLL and Jeriko du Reponet both very talented hurdlers who are open to improvement in this sphere. The former is preferred on the back of a highly promising chase debut third in the John Francome at Newbury where his exuberance may have ultimately prevented him from justifying strong support. On that evidence the return of the hood will be a good thing.
