Winner of 3 of his 5 starts over hurdles, including the Grade 1 Tolworth. Conversely, just the one win since switched to fences and looked a difficult ride last season. Others preferred.

All or nothing last season, one of his 2 wins coming here (19.9f). Ran no sort of race after 4 months off at Ascot 4 weeks ago but has proven he can bounce back.

Ended last season in top form, winning at Newton Abbot in April. Shaped well over a trip that might have stretched him when second in Badger Beers at Wincanton on return and can go well back down in distance.

Rejuvenated by breathing surgery/fitting of a tongue strap and he completed his hat-trick here (23f) in March. Shaped better than the bare result at Cheltenham on return and should be closer to form this time.

Made a successful chase debut at Ffos Las on his return last season and bookended the campaign when resuming winning ways in Greatwood Gold Cup here final start, though that success owed plenty to this rider's never-say-die attitude. Hood left off and step up in trip could be a help.

Mostly disappointed last season but did manage a win at Haydock (16.3f, soft) in January. However, did at least offer something to build on when third at Wetherby on return.

Low-mileage chaser with a very good strike rate and made a promising return last season when third over 26f here. Reported to have made a respiratory noise when pulled up at Uttoxeter in February and not seen since, but has had another breathing operation and handicapper has given him a chance.

Hasn't looked back since attentions switched to larger obstacles, gaining a fifth victory in dominant fashion at Bangor (20.3f) in April. Far from disgraced in Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on return 2 weeks ago and needs considering back down in class.

Improved to land back-to-back novice handicaps at Kempton/Warwick (both at around 2½m) last season. Still jumped/travelled with plenty of fluency in subsequent defeats and he's one of the least exposed in this field. Player if ready to go on return.

Enhanced excellent record fresh when winning this off 2 lb lower on return last season. Failed to build on that in 3 subsequent starts though was highly tried. This could be the time to catch him.

Much improved over fences for this yard last season, winning 3 times. Held his form well after and made an encouraging return back over hurdles at Kempton. Likeable type who should go well again.

Returned to form from out of the blue to win at Galway in September and proved better than ever (badly hampered early) to follow up at Downpatrick 11 days later. However, has been harshly dealt with by the BHA handicapper and could manage only sixth at Cheltenham next time despite improving again.

Forecasts

Booster Bob (4/1), Hunter Legend (4/1), Eyed (11/2), Brave Kingdom (6/1), Wiseguy (13/2), Leader In The Park (9/1), Scarface (12/1), King's Threshold (14/1), Bhaloo (18/1), Prairie Wolf (20/1), Tahmuras (28/1), Solly Attwell (40/1)

Verdict

Plenty to consider but it could be worth chancing BRAVE KINGDOM, who's evidently fragile but goes well fresh and has dipped below his last winning mark. Wiseguy is another who has an excellent record first-time out, as shown when winning this last season, while Scarface and Hunter Legend both made encouraging comebacks in Premier Handicaps.
