Still a maiden but largely run with credit over hurdles this year, finishing runner-up 3 times. Another respectable effort when fourth of 9 at Lingfield (23f, good) 16 days ago. Likely to be competitive again.

Form: 226FF4

Something Simple^t²¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Paddy Hanlon⁽⁵⁾| T: J J Hanlon| OR: 89

10/1

No impact in 3 qualifying runs in Ireland this autumn but appeals as a potential improver now handicapping up in trip.

Form: 307658

Tom Taggle²²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Isabel Williams| T: Evan Williams| OR: 88| D

4/1

Ended last season with a 3m handicap win at Chepstow. Struggling when falling 3 out on 19.5f reappearance there 3 weeks ago but the return to a longer trip could see him in a better light.

Form: 64461-F

Forecasts

Getuptheyard (2/1), Avada Kedavra (11/4), Iris Des Issards (7/2), Tom Taggle (4/1), Something Simple (10/1), Summerleaze (33/1)

The handicapper might have taken a bit of a chance in dropping IRIS DES ISSARDS 4 lb in one go and back to the mark he defied at Newton Abbot in the spring. Something Simple is a potential improver in handicaps and might provide the main threat ahead of Getuptheyard and Avada Kedavra.
