Off time: 13:10 | Winning time: 3m 49.92s

Quantock Hills²⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 11-8| J: Brendan Powell| T: W Greatrex| OR: 121| BF

7/4

Fairly useful winner in France and good start for this yard when winning juvenile hurdles at Fontwell and Cheltenham (dead-heated on latter occasion) last winter. Failed to meet expectations (sent off 13/8 favourite) on return/chase debut at Newton Abbot (16.3f, soft), but he's capable of better.

Form: 11505-3

Wotter Trotter³⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-5| J: Tristan Durrell⁽³⁾| T: D Skelton| OR: 110

4/1

From a good jumping family and showed ability in 3 runs over hurdles last season. Ultimately well held sent chasing when returning to action at Worcester, but that run was probably needed and, in good hands, this 5-y-o should do better at some point soon.

Form: 462-7

My Noble Lord^p²⁷⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 11-3| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero| OR: 116

10/3

Four-time Flat winner for Michael Bell in 2024 and successful start over hurdles for this yard in a juvenile race at Chepstow last October. Solid placed efforts in handicaps on final 2 starts of last season and could have a part to play if his jumping passes the test now switched to fences.

Form: 15833-

Throatlash²⁷³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-1| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 106WS

4/1

Winner of sole start between the flags and placed both appearances in 17f Carlisle novice hurdles last winter. Pulled up on chase debut at Bangor when last seen in February, but has undergone a wind op since and he may well be seen in a better light now handicapping.

Form: 123P-

Hors Jeu^h,t²⁶¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: R Patrick| T: C Boultbee-Brooks| OR: 105

12/1

Fairly useful 17f hurdles winner in France last spring, but hasn't fired in 4 runs since coming to Britain and is hard to warm to now tackling the larger obstacles.

Form: 124P97-

Galidam^t¹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 10-9| J: Callum Bewley| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 100

25/1

Fair hurdler in France who opened his account in 10-runner claimer at Moulins last September. Modest form at best on this side of the Channel, though, and he's another who looks set for am uphill struggle on this chase debut.

Form: 6/715P-6

Forecasts

Quantock Hills (7/4), Spadestep (9/4), My Noble Lord (10/3), Throatlash (4/1), Wotter Trotter (4/1), Rock On Jet (7/1), Great Pepper (8/1), Hors Jeu (12/1), Joecooker (12/1), Galidam (25/1)

There was plenty of promise in SPADESTEP's Aintree chase debut second and he should prove hard to beat, especially given that it's reasonable to anticipate improvement with that run under his belt. Quantock Hills has a handy 4-y-o allowance and is also likely to step up on what he showed first time out over fences, while Rock On Jet is a live each-way candidate, along with chase debutant My Noble Lord. Throatlash and Wotter Trotter both possess some potential for the medium-to-long-term.
