Useful hurdler. Ninth in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham last season. Reluctant at start but back to form on reappearance when third in a listed handicap hurdle at Naas (20f, heavy) 14 days ago. Worth another go over 3m but isn't one for maximum faith.

Followed up maiden win with success in a listed novice handicap to end last season and resumed progress to land a hat-trick with an easy victory in an 8-runner handicap hurdle at Gowran (24f, soft) on his return last month. Progressive sort has solid claims to land the 4-timer.

Useful hurdler at best. Regressed as a chaser but showed he's not a lost cause with some creditable efforts on the Flat of late. Not dismissed back over hurdles.

Progressive when runner-up in a competitive Aintree hurdle final start last season but nowhere near that form of late, for all he has run respectably to finish third on both starts over fences. Remains to be seen if he can rediscover his best back over hurdles following a break.

Backed up a winning return when third in a solid-looking handicap hurdle at Listowel (20f, good to soft) prior to overcoming a step up in grade to land a 5-runner listed mares' race (7/2) at Limerick (22.8f, soft) last month. Better than ever and respected back in a handicap.

50/1
Useful at best but hasn't won over hurdles since 2022 and has been below form on his most recent starts, producing a lacklustre display when last of 4 in a conditions hurdle at this course (18.9f, good to soft, 22/1) 40 days ago. Only considered if market expects better upped markedly in trip.

40/1
Course winner whose best days have come over fences (useful form). Races off a significantly lower hurdles mark but only beat one home in 13-runner handicap on reappearance at Listowel (24f, good to soft) 60 days ago. Only of interest if the betting suggests a resurgence.

Gambled on when successful at Downpatrick (22f) in April last year. Friendless in the market on both starts this season following an absence but clearly retains ability and worth noting if the market speaks in his favour.

Second over this trip on reappearance last season but didn't have much luck after, travelled better than most and yet to be asked for maximum effort when falling 2 out at Limerick in December. Back up in trip and could well be in the mix if returning in similar form.

Forecasts

Intent Approach (2/1), Custom Taylor (5/2), Staffordshire Knot (11/2), Millstream Lady (6/1), Olympic Man (10/1), Timmy Tuesday (10/1), Sarah Beara (22/1), Indiana Jones (40/1), Brazil (50/1)

Verdict

The market should offer plenty of clues in this Pertemps Qualifier but the most solid option is progressive CUSTOM TAYLOR who landed a hat-trick in dominant fashion on his return at Gowran and may well land the 4-timer. Sarah Beara was shaping well prior to falling in December and did finish second on her reappearance last season, while Olympic Man has shown he isn't a lost cause with some creditable efforts on the Flat of late.
