Dartmouth gelding who made a winning debut in a Worcester bumper (2m) back in September (fair form). Shade keen and no extra over 1f out when third under a penalty at Ascot (15.7f) 3 weeks ago and no reason why he won't make his mark in this sphere on that evidence.

6-y-o who was a fairly useful winner in bumpers in 2024 and fair form in handful of maiden/novice hurdles. Well below best on handicap debut at Exeter (16.7f) 2 weeks ago though, and percentage call is to look elsewhere on debut in this sphere.

Son of Sioux Nation who made amends for his short price reverse on stable debut when landing 9-runner bumper at Sedgefield (16.8f, good to firm, 15/8) 52 days ago, leading final 100 yds as runner-up hung chance away. Should have a future in this sphere. Had wind surgery.

75,000 gns purchase who showed ability whilst shaping as though he'll be sharper all round for the run when fourth of 7 in novice at Haydock (11.6f) on debut in April, staying on gradually final 1f. Looks sure to improve and shortlisted back from a break.

From an excellent family and showed ability when fifth in a Kempton novice (1m) on debut last autumn. However, shaped as if amiss when ninth of 10 in a novice here only start since in March and had wind surgery ahead of this return/stable debut. Market can guide.

Shaped well when second behind a useful sort on debut last summer but hasn't progressed from that. Had cheekpieces retained when matching best of this year's form when second in 5-runner Chelmsford novice (10f) last month and she ought to be thereabouts again with a tongue tie now added.

Forecasts

Volcanic Rock (8/13), Caliban (9/4), Participle (11/2), Siouxfonic (16/1), King's Cruiser (40/1), Hawaiian King (40/1), Dartmouth Jet (66/1), Not So Sobers (80/1), Majestic Leo (100/1)

Verdict

CALIBAN showed ability whilst shaping as though he'll be sharper all round for the run when fourth in a stronger race at Haydock back in the spring and he could well be the answer back from 6 months off with progress anticipated. Participle's progress looks to have stalled but she's of interest nevertheless with a first-time tongue strap now added. Godolphin newcomer Volcanic Rock is one to note in the betting for clues, with Siouxfonic also respected on the back of a bumper victory.
