Losing run stretches back to October 2022, but the handicapper has reacted accordingly and he made the frame off higher marks than this on a few occasions last winter, including at this course. Should come on for recent reappearance at Ayr and he's well worth considering with Dylan Johnston booked.
Allowed to build up an insurmountable lead when winning an amateur riders' event at Catterick last December. Hasn't managed to add to that since, but he has finished in the money here and at Ayr the last twice and has dropped back to the same mark as when winning that Catterick handicap.
Placed sole start between the flags and showed a fair level of ability under Rules last season, including when second upped to 2½m on handicap debut at Perth during the spring. However, he hasn't managed to build on that in 2 starts since returning from a break in September.
Just the one one to his name from 14 hurdles starts, namely a Navan handicap back in 2023 for Gavin Cromwell. More miss than hit for present yard, but his third in a 13-runner Ayr handicap (24.3f, soft) with cheekpieces (retained) when last seen in February was a step back in the right direction.
Easy winner of handicap hurdle at Stratford (18.7f, good to soft) on final run for Dan Skelton in July. Has made the frame on 3 of his 5 starts since joining this yard, including when upped to 3m on penultimate start at Wetherby, but he remains vulnerable from a win point of view.
On a good mark judged on placed efforts in several handicaps during 2023/24 campaign, but she didn't offer much in a handful of appearances last season and is probably best watched back from a 10-month absence.
Just 1 lb higher in the weights compared to when gaining latest success at Ayr with first-time cheekpieces enlisted in January. However, the headgear hasn't proved quite so effective in her 5 subsequent starts and she will probably find a few too good here.
No show in a trio of novice events at up to 21f and needs to improved markedly now upped in trip for this handicap debut.
Best effort to date when runner-up at Sedgefield in March, but he hasn't come close to matching that level of form in his 3 subsequent appearances. Moves up in trip here (unraced beyond 2½m) following a 17-month absence (has undergone a wind op in the interim) and needs to get back on track.
It's been all downhill since his narrow breakthrough success in a handicap chase at Newcastle in November 2023. Readily passed over.
Left previous form behind when second in a 7-runner Hexham handicap in March 2024, but she failed to build on that standout effort in 3 runs last season.

Forecasts
Burning It Up (2/1), Victory Club (4/1), Guernesey (5/1), Be The Difference (11/2), Pure Sirloin (10/1), Topkapi Star (14/1), Walk My Way (18/1), Goodoldbill (20/1), Boyneside (22/1), Fainche (22/1), Top Of The Stars (66/1)
In a race devoid of a solid-looking proposition, GUERNESEY could be worth chancing. The 9-y-o failed to land a blow on his recent reappearance spin, but that run was almost certainly needed and he is appealing here off an attractive mark with Dylan Johnston doing the steering. If Pure Sirloin is raring to go following nine months off he will be a threat, while Be The Difference also enters calculations.
- Guernesey5/1
- Pure Sirloin10/1
