Successful once from 2 starts in Irish points and overcame inexperience to win 7-runner novice at Carlisle (17.2f, good to firm, evens) on Rules debut 16 days ago, asserting gradually. Open to improvement.

10/3
Showed his Perth display to be no flash in the pan as he got off the mark in 3-runner maiden hurdle at Sedgefield (16.8f, good) 13 days ago. More needed under a penalty in an appreciably stronger race, though.

One-time useful handicap chaser but largely disappointing of late and enough to prove now reverting to hurdling for new stable (has left Paul Robson).

Modest in bumpers and fell at the third on Huntingdon hurdling debut in December.

Won sole start in point bumpers in March and looked unsuited by emphasis on speed when second of 5 in a Sedgefield bumper (16.8f, firm) in May. Has left Tjade Collier.

Showed fair form when in the frame all 3 outings over hurdles last season, including when second of 12 over C&D (good) on final outing. Should give his running back from 7 months off but likely vulnerable to better prospects.

Forecasts

Sleeping Late (5/4), Wilstar (5/4), Kadastral (15/8), Tree Top Tyson (10/3), Cave Bridge (4/1), Breizh River (11/2), Brixson (14/1), Hey Buddy (33/1), Scairp Dubh (50/1), Redeeming Love (80/1)

Verdict

WILSTAR and Kadastral are both exciting recruits to hurdling judged on their bumper exploits. The latter built on his debut promise to land a valuable prize at Newbury in March, but narrow preference is for the former, who impressed with his last-to-first move in a well-run affair at Perth and has clearly inherited plenty of his illustrious family's ability. Cave Bridge overcame inexperience to make a winning hurdling debut at Carlisle recently and is open to improvement.
