Malinas gelding found one too strong on first two starts in bumpers so far and made the most of a good opportunity when running out a decisive winner of a Newcastle bumper on final start for Ewan Whillans. Makes appeal starting out over hurdles for new yard.

Purchased for £50,000 after making it fourth time lucky in Irish points in November and struck at the first time of asking under Rules in a 2¼m bumper at Fontwell (heavy) on Rules debut. Outclassed in a Grade 2 at Aintree subsequently but could have more to offer now sent hurdling.
Fairly useful handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m), winning two handicaps this season prior to finishing a respectable third on the all-weather last time. Flat form offers some hope and interesting to see what the market makes of him on hurdle debut.
Stoutly bred sort made a winning start in a Newton Abbot bumper and improved when following up at Windsor in January. Progressed again when sixth in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, doing all his best work at the finish. That form makes him a leading contender on hurdles bow.
Maiden pointer showed nothing on hurdle debut at Chepstow earlier this month. Likely to need more time/distance.
Runner-up sole outing in Irish points and shaped well when occupying same spot in a bumper at Ffos Las (15.8f, heavy) in March 2024. Hasn't got anywhere near that form in two starts over hurdles but interesting to see if the market expects better with Harry Cobden in the saddle.
Limited impact in a trio of bumpers but showed more on hurdle debut when fifth in an Exeter maiden (16.7f) on penultimate start. Didn't progress over a longer trip at Ffos Las (20f) next time but could be competitive with a cleaner round of jumping back down in trip.

€42,000 3-y-o, Crystal Ocean gelding. Dam (c113/h105), 2m-2¾m hurdle/chase winner, sister to fair hurdler/chaser (stayed 2½m) Andi'amu. Betting should guide expectation on debut.
€8,000 3-y-o, Crystal Ocean gelding. Dam, fairly useful 2m hurdle winner (stayed 2½m), also 1½m-2m winner on Flat. Inexpensive purchase but market should offer plenty of clues on racecourse debut.
Featured prominently in the betting but finished last in a Huntingdon bumper on debut in April. In excellent hands and no surprise to see him step forward on first start over hurdles.
Runner-up in sole Irish point in April and posted an encouraging third in bumper on debut for Dan Skelton. No show in two subsequent starts, sent off at long odds when pulled up on hurdle debut at Worcester 11 days ago. Likely to be one for the longer-term now.
€32,000 5-y-o, Policy Maker mare. Half-sister to fair hurdler/chaser Hiway One O Three, stays 3¼m. Dam (c96/h94) 2¾m hurdle winner. Runner-up sole start in Irish points (Apr 2025). Makes some appeal on paper and one to note for support on Rules debut.

Forecasts
Idaho Sun (4/9), Gaelic Pride (10/3), Bespoke Tailor (5/1), Golden Circet (25/1), Jacquetta (25/1), Corner Forward (28/1), Mask Of Zorro (50/1), King Of Thieves (50/1), Mild Magic (66/1), Johnny Hooves (80/1), Son Of Tyran (200/1), Kaviar Wood (300/1)
IDAHO SUN sets the standard on his Champion Bumper sixth and he's taken to make a winning hurdle debut. Gaelic Pride wasn't disgraced in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree last time and could prove the main danger, while fellow hurdling debutant Bespoke Tailor also appeals on first start for new connections.
