Bumper/hurdles winner who has been in fine form over larger obstacles in recent months, resuming winning ways at Cartmel (25.5f) in August prior to emphatically following up at Uttoxeter (3m) 39 days ago. Further 9 lb rise makes things tougher but hard to rule out in present groove.
In rude health during the spring, ready winner of back-to-back handicap chase contests at Cartmel (21f). Found the Summer Plate at Market Rasen a different kettle of fish but shaped a good bit better than bare result when fourth at Cartmel (25.5f) in August. However, this tougher again.
Fairly useful winner over hurdles and doubled his tally in this sphere when bagging 5-runner C&D contest in March, appreciating the drop back in trip. Not in same form with a tongue strap added (discarded here) next time but he's certainly no forlorn hope on this return from 6 months off.
Hurdles/chase winner who opened his account for James Owen over hurdles at Wetherby last December. Very solid effort over fences thereafter, sixth in Kim Muir at Cheltenham prior to finishing fourth in Scottish National on final outing. Respected now starting out for new yard.
Failed to score last term but some good efforts in defeat and made an eye-catching start to the new season when fourth at Worcester, finished with running left over an inadequate trip. Should be sharper now and respected now returning to 3m+.
8-y-o who has done his winning in single-figure fields, runner-up twice in the spring prior to making most of good opportunity in 4-runner handicap chase at Haydock (25.6f) back in April. This looks a whole lot more demanding on reappearance however, not least operating from 5 lb out of the weights.

An interesting renewal with several holding claims including Dan Skelton's SNIPE. There was definite encouragement to glean from his reappearance fourth at Worcester 6 weeks ago, not least with a view to stepping back up in trip and he's fancied to be seen in a much better light on this occasion. Elvis Mail brought the house down when bagging this prize for the second consecutive season 12 months ago and looks primed for another big run. Famous Bridge (second last year) completes the shortlist.
