Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 16/1, creditable second of 14 in handicap at Leicester (6f, good) 14 days ago, well drawn. Wasn't beaten far when fifth on sole previous run here in January, but one or two of the others are more appealing.
Third of 5 in handicap at Salisbury (6f, good, 11/2) 87 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Keiran Burke and while this veteran is by no means a forlorn hope, the percentage call is to look elsewhere.
Latest win at Leicester in September. 7/1, tenth of 14 in handicap at the same course (6f, good) 14 days ago. Possibly in the handicapper's grip for now.
Three-time C&D winner. 3 wins from 13 runs this year, the latest at Doncaster in June. 7/1, good second of 14 in handicap at this C&D 7 days ago. Expected to be bang there.
Unreliable individual. Won 10-runner handicap (9/2) at this C&D 12 days ago, despite a slow start. That was his fourth C&D success, but it's hard to be confident that he'll deliver again given his up-and-down profile.
C&D winner. Latest win at Ayr in August. 9/4, third of 5 in handicap at this course (7.1f) 17 days ago. Place possibilities.
C&D winner. 2 wins from 6 runs this year. 4/1, won 10-runner handicap at Redcar (6f, good to firm) when last seen in April. Resumes on 10 lb higher AW mark, but is just 1 lb higher than when scoring here at the end of January. Chance if fully tuned-up for this.
Four-time C&D winner. Last of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 20/1) 10 days ago. Blinkers back on and it's probably best to look elsewhere.

Forecasts
Raft Up (11/8), Emperor's Son (11/4), Sibyl Charm (13/2), Bellagio Man (7/1), Tickets (14/1), Holbache (16/1), Tomorrow Day (20/1), Delagate This Lord (28/1)
Having just failed over this C&D when returning from a break last week, RAFT UP makes strong appeal off the same mark. He clearly likes it here (Newcastle form figures read 15112) and gets the nod ahead of Tickets, who was last seen winning on turf during the spring and he'll be a danger to all if raring to go following a break. Sibyl Charm is best of the rest, given that there can be no assurances that Bellagio Man will back up his recent C&D success.

- Tickets14/1
- Sibyl Charm13/2
