Lee 'Bazza' Jenkinson Memorial Handicap Chase

Off time: 17:38 | Winning time: 7m 14.23s

Wholly Boley²⁰⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 12-0| J: Danny McMenamin| T: D Bourke| OR: 98| D

22/1

Only modest form in bumpers in 2023 but won a point since and made a satisfactory start to his hurdle career when fifth in a 3m course maiden in January. Failed to progress in two runs at Ayr since though so more needed now going chasing.

Form: 52/1563-

Upfordebate^t⁸^{(ex 7)}

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: B S Hughes| T: P Neville| OR: 89| CD

5/2

Has started really well in this sphere and went 2-3 in 8-runner handicap chase at Perth (23.8f, good to soft) 8 days ago. Not taken lightly under a 7 lb penalty.

Form: 6P6-511

Killybegs Jet Lady^t,v³⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-8| J: Alan Doyle⁽⁵⁾| T: L Russell & M Scudamore| OR: 92| BF| D

4/1

Irish point winner who has yet to strike under Rules but arrives in very good nick, leading long way when runner-up on her fencing debut over C&D in August. Weighted to go well despite taking a 2 lb rise.

Form: 2-23352

Clovis Boy^t,v²⁰⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: D R Fox| T: L Russell & M Scudamore| OR: 91| C| D

5/1

A dual hurdles winner last term but has yet to really get going this season, tried in a visor here last time. Others appeal more.

Form: 1/U7P80-

McGregors Charge¹⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: Ben Godfrey| T: Ella Pickard| OR: 88| D

4/1

Got off the mark at Perth in August and has posted solid placed efforts since at Stratford and Newton Abbot (25.8f, soft). Ought to be thereabouts again.

Form: 324132

Halfway House Lad^t¹¹¹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Charlie Price⁽³⁾| T: M A Barnes| OR: 82| BF| CD

6/1

C&D winner in March and got back on track when length second of 12 to Ballydangan in handicap chase over C&D (good to soft) in June. Not ruled out after a break.

Form: 3112-U2

Ballydangan⁹²

Age: 8| Weight: 10-8| J: Peter Kavanagh| T: H Burns| OR: 78| CD

14/1

Didn't show much for Dan Skelton, but in fine form for his current yard, gaining his breakthrough success over C&D in June. Good third of 11 at Perth (3m) following month so must enter calculations.

Form: P93-313

Kitty Ooru²⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 10-6| J: Craig Nichol| T: M Todhunter| OR: 76

28/1

Ex-Irish maiden hurdler. Cheekpieces on for 1st time when a well-held fifth of 8 in handicap hurdle (100/1) at Perth (23.9f, good) 25 days ago. Goes chasing with lots more required.

Form: 0434-05

You Say Its Over¹⁷²

Age: 7| Weight: 10-2| J: Alice Stevens⁽⁵⁾| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 71

18/1

Is 0-21 but she recorded a respectable fourth of 14 in handicap chase over C&D (good) 172 days ago, doing too much too soon. Needs considering.

Form: 866434-

Non-Runners

Forecasts

Upfordebate (5/2), McGregors Charge (4/1), Killybegs Jet Lady (4/1), Clovis Boy (5/1), Halfway House Lad (6/1), Ballydangan (14/1), You Say Its Over (18/1), Iturgeon Du Breuil (20/1), Wholly Boley (22/1), Kitty Ooru (28/1), Lights Are Green (33/1), Luminaries (66/1)

KILLYBEGS JET LADY made a promising start in this sphere when runner-up over C&D and this Irish points scorer is fancied to go one better at the chief expense of recent Perth winner Upfordebate. Ballydangan and McGregors Charge can both have a say too.
