Smart at his best, landing this race 2 years ago and also the Temple Stakes at Haydock in 2024. Yet to score this term but will find this less demanding than Group contests he's contested in recent weeks and stable have landed 3 of last 4 renewals of this race.

Smart performer who again ran respectably when fourth in Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville (6.5f) 3 weeks ago, weakening final 100 yds. Drop back to 5f will hold no fears and huge player dropped in class with blinkers now reached for.

Useful gelding who has performed consistently well in defeat this campaign, just taking a while to find his stride from off the pace when fourth of 9 in listed race at Newmarket (6f) 8 days ago. However, does have a fair bit to find on these terms if he's to figure.

Upwardly-mobile sprinter who scored at Chester in May before posting excellent efforts in stronger company since, latterly when second of 12 in listed race at Deauville (5f) 3 weeks ago, having helped force pace. Just the type his excellent yard could unlock further progress from.

Bated Breath filly who gained breakthrough in listed company at Cork (5.5f) in May before an excellent second in Group 2 Sandy Lane at Haydock later that month. Similar form in defeat in listed/Group company both starts since and this stiff finish ought to suit back at 5f.

Fairly useful mare who has 3 C&D victories to her name and she comes here in good form, posting a creditable second of 6 in handicap at Hamilton (5f, good to firm, 9/2) 8 days ago. Still, has plenty on her plate now stepping up markedly in class.

Progressive on AW and carried that good work over to the turf with a 5f York handicap success at the end of May. Building up a very solid profile and she remains unexposed at 5f, but this will demand another step forward.

Useful mare who thrived on a busy 2024, her sixth victory of the campaign coming in listed company at Ayr (5.5f) in September. Absent since finishing midfield in Group 3 at Dundalk a month later and she'll need to be firmly up to speed to land this back from 10 months off.

Took her form up a notch when bagging Palace of Holyroodhouse at Royal Ascot in June. Backed that up when fourth in Sandown Group 3 next time and she ran another cracker when second in 20-runner Goodwood handicap (5f) 32 days ago. Well worth her place here on that evidence and she's respected.

Forecasts

Regional (15/8), Adrestia (9/4), First Instinct (7/1), Shagraan (15/2), Redorange (10/1), Kerdos (11/1), Star Of Lady M (22/1), Clarendon House (33/1), Habooba (40/1), Elegant Erin (100/1)

Verdict

This is a drop in grade for the most admirable REGIONAL, who has acquitted himself with plenty of credit in some top sprints this season and may well be up to taking full advantage from a handy draw with first-time blinkers enlisted. Thriving 3-y-o pair Adrestia and Redorange are others to consider, as is 2023 winner Kerdos.
