Developed into a smart type on all-weather and did enough to suggest she's every bit as effective on turf when a close third behind Rainbows Edge in a listed race at this course (10.2f), coming from further back than the front two and shaping as though she'll appreciate this longer trip. Player.

Useful mare has a good record at this track (second in this last year) and arrives in fine heart having again placed in listed company when third at Newmarket (12f, good) 19 days ago. This looks tougher but she should give her running again.

Smart filly made a successful handicap debut at Ascot on return (form has been franked) and got back on track over a more suitable trip when a narrow runner-up in a listed race over 10f here last month, the winner enjoying the run of the race. Makes plenty of appeal now upped further in trip.

Useful mare but remains with just the sole victory from 18 starts, for all she was as good as ever when third in a 6-runner listed race at Nottingham (10.2f) in April. Not in the same form in the Kensington Palace (1m) and remains to be seen if longer trip can eke out the required improvement.

Bred to be smart and confirmed debut promise when making all to win a 10f novice at Newmarket 20 days ago, only having to be kept up to her work late on. In excellent hands and notable that she's pitched straight into listed company. Likely improver stepping up in distance.

Off the mark under a front-running ride in a 10f claimer at Fairyhouse last month and found another chunk of improvement to follow up on handicap debut at Leopardstown (9f) having enjoyed the run of the race. Up in trip but will need to progress again to land the hat-trick in much better company.

Opened her account at third attempt in a Wolverhampton maiden (9.5f) in April and improved again when just touched off on handicap debut at Salisbury (9.9f). Could only match that form when second over a longer trip at Ascot (12f) last month but shouldn't disgrace herself in quest for black type.

Winner of an all-weather maiden in March and followed up in a good style in a 1½m Chester handicap in May. Sold to Wathnan subsequently and wasn't disgraced when seventh of 11 in the Ribblesdale (12f) at Royal Ascot. Trainer excels with this type and she could be more competitive following a break.

Plenty of quality in her pedigree and despite not beating a rival on debut in May, she was all the rage in the betting when winning an 11f Kempton novice 8 weeks later, asserting in the final furlong. She remains open to improvement back on turf but this is a much tougher test.

Forecasts

Charlotte's Web (11/4), Rainbows Edge (11/4), Karmology (5/1), Butterfly Wings (13/2), Alice Monet (7/1), Aeolian (8/1), Crepe Suzette (11/1), Lady Vivian (14/1), Rose Prick (20/1), Little Dorrit (66/1)

Verdict

RAINBOWS EDGE resumed the progress she showed as a 3-y-o when winning a strong Ascot handicap on reappearance and got back on track when runner-up in a listed race at this course last month. She's taken to go one better over the longer trip. with Charlotte's Web, who finished a close third behind her last time, feared most. Of the rest, Aeolian impressed when winning a Newmarket novice and looks a fascinating contender now stepped up in trip for the William Haggas team.
