In excellent form this season with five wins including victory at Carlisle over this distance 11 days ago. Third of 8 in handicap at Leicester (4/1) 5 days ago, seemingly taken off feet on firm surface. No surprise to see this thriving mare firmly in the shake-up again.
Hasn't won in 14 starts since June 2023 but showed more encouragement when third of 9 in handicap at Haydock (7/2) 28 days ago, keeping on well. Could be competitive from increasingly favourable mark.
C&D winner in April who has been consistent in handicaps this summer. Resuming winning ways in 11-runner handicap at Doncaster (1m) 22 days ago, overcoming a poor start to lead in the final furlong. Well worthy of consideration again from 3 lb higher mark.
Fair maiden who went agonisingly close to a first success at Wetherby (10f) in June and shaped as if still in good form with cheekpieces added when third of 8 in handicap at Leicester (9/2) 29 days ago. Not discounted.
Fallen below her last winning mark and confirmed her return to form when keeping on for third in 10-runner handicap at Southwell (7f) 14 days ago. Another not dismissed out of hand re-united with Paul Mulrennan.
Without a win in 23 starts dating back to September 2021. Stepped up on reappearance effort when third of 7 in handicap at Musselburgh (7f) 7 days ago, a switch to positive tactics seeing him in a better light. Potentially very well treated if putting it all together.
Won 81mhandicap at Redcar in May but disappointing on 2 of her 3 starts since, finishing sixth of 9 in 8f handicap at Doncaster (9/1) 22 days ago. Others appeal more on recent evidence.
Career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Catterick (7f, good to firm) on penultimate start but failed to repeat that display when fifth of 12 in handicap at this course (7f) 31 days ago, no extra final 100 yds. Looks to have work to do back up in class.

Forecasts
Carolus Magnus (3/1), Jez Bomb (10/3), Hostelry (4/1), Bernalda (9/2), Clear Angel (10/1), Biplane (11/1), Without Delay (12/1), Electric Avenue (14/1)
HOSTELRY has been in excellent form with five wins this season and is probably best not judged too harshly on her latest Leicester third given she was seemingly taken off her feet on firm ground. She looks a live player again and earns the vote over recent Doncaster scorer Jez Bomb, who is another well worthy of consideration. Bernalda and Clear Angel are others worthy of a second look.
