STAR NOIR wasn't unfancied in the betting and made an encouraging start when splitting a pair of rivals with experience at Beverley a fortnight ago. There should be better to come now upped to 6f and he gets the nod. Stoic Poet's stamina was probably stretched upped to 7.2f at Ayr last time and he is feared back down in trip here, while Showtown is third on the list ahead of stablemate Circle of Trust and Supreme Clarets.
