Three-time winner last season who hasn't yet fired in 3l starts this season, last of 6 in handicap (16/1) at Doncaster (16.5f, good) 18 days ago, dropping away 2f out. Mark is steadily easing as a result but need to see more positive signs before becoming of interest.

Gradually progressive over hurdles for this yard, opening his account in maiden at Sedgefield (19.8f) in May prior to finishing a good second at Cartmel later that month. Ran creditably back in this sphere when fourth of 5 in handicap at Thirsk (14f) 22 days ago and not discounted upped in trip.
|
Dual winner on the level for Ollie Sangster who opened his account over hurdles for this yard at Kelso (18f) in May. Lines up here following a lesser display when sixth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (19.9f) 10 days ago and visor now replaces cheekpieces returned to this sphere.
|
Chased home Queen of Steel over C&D in June and emphatically went one place better upped to 18f back here next time. Again ran creditably when third of 14 in handicap at Southwell (16.5f) 24 days ago and he's of interest again back at this slightly longer trip.
|
Back-to-back winner of handicap hurdles in March and continued good work back in this sphere, the second leg of a quick-fire hat-trick coming over C&D in June. Ran another solid race when runner-up at Ffos Las (14f) 8 days ago and return to further sure to suit. Big player.
|
Lightly-raced maiden. Fourth of 5 in handicap at Goodwood (12f, good to firm, 11/4) 47 days ago, outpaced over 2f out before rallying. Interesting top yard opt for a marked step up in trip now and surprise where he not capable of making an impact from this sort of mark.
|
Bred to be better than this sort of mark and definite positives to glean from his last 2 runs, third of 10 in handicap (4/1) at Carlisle (11.2f, good) 27 days ago, staying on final 1f. Remains with potential now tackling this markedly longer trip and he's one to consider.

Forecasts
New York Minute (6/4), Queen Of Steel (11/4), Captain Potter (18/5), Diamand De Vindecy (5/1), Jedhi Knight (12/1), Celestial Reign (14/1), Merrijig (16/1), Spartan Warrior (16/1), Perseus Way (16/1), Action Pact (20/1), Byron Hill (33/1)
Having been much improved since joining Fergal O'Brien (successful on 5 of last 6 starts), QUEEN OF STEEL may well have been better suited by making it more of a test when runner-up over shorter at Ffos Las 8 days ago. The return to this C&D rates a definite plus and she's a big player with Warren Fentiman taking off a very handy 5 lb. 3-y-os New York Minute and Jedhi Knight both retain untapped potential over marathon trips and may emerge as the chief threats.
- Queen Of Steel11/4
- Jedhi Knight12/1
