Disappointing since March AW win, ninth of 10 in 6f handicap at Wolverhampton (40/1) 25 days ago when running without headgear. First run for new trainer who can do well with this type but still has questions to answer returning to turf.

Has been in excellent form this season, winning four of her last five starts in handicaps over 5f. Won a field of 8 in a 5f handicap at Haydock (4/1) 20 days ago, making all and asserting in the final half-furlong. This uncomplicated sort has been thriving and should go well again.

Won a maiden at Bath in August and needed the run when 5th at Yarmouth in May. Impressive winner of a 5f handicap at Lingfield Park 27 days ago, scoring in the manner of one way ahead of his mark with the emphasis on speed suiting. This is a different test but remains potentially very well treated.

Returned from a break with a promising second at Thirsk before winning readily in a 9-runner handicap at Beverley (4/1) 20 days ago, showing a sharp turn of foot. Could hold her own back up in grade.

Three-time winner last term who returned to best when 4th at Redcar before finishing sixth of 8 in handicap at Haydock (8/1) 20 days ago after being bumped at the start and forced wide. Best not judged on that run and entitled to be in the mix in first-time blinkers.

In good form since returning from gelding and breathing operations, most recently finishing a head 2nd of 7 in a 6f handicap at Hamilton (4/1) 13 days ago. Still low-mileage for a sprinter and not ruled out dropped to 5f with the prospect of a strongly-run race.

Made all to win at Newcastle (AW) 29 days ago before finishing third of 8 in handicap at Haydock (5/1) 20 days ago, running respectably but weakening late. Should remain competitive back down into a 0-80.

Making the frame in four of last five starts and second of 7 in handicap at Thirsk (9/4) 10 days ago when denied a run until finding gap inside final furlong. Visor worn again today and this could be run to suit. Consistent sort merits respect.

Has shown promise despite still being a maiden. Fourth of 11 in AW handicap at Newcastle (4/1) 29 days ago, shaped better than result when not getting clear run and running on at finish. Strong travelling sort could be suited by this test and he makes appeal back on turf.

Won a maiden last September before finishing ninth of 11 in handicap at Carlisle (40/1) 15 days ago after 9-month absence. May be sharper for that run but will need to step forward significantly now pitched into a more competitive handicap.

Third of 7 in 5f handicap at Thirsk (13/2) 49 days ago when racing prominently but one-paced, after third of 8 at Redcar (22/1). In good heart but likely to find this too competitive.

Finished third in last two handicap starts, most recently when third of 8 in 6f handicap at Doncaster (13/2) 28 days ago, keeping on after meeting interference. This mark probably isn't beyond him and chances may hinge on whether he can go the early pace if this becomes a fast run 5f.

Verdict

There could be plenty of pace on but DIOMED DUKE very much caught the eye when winning at Lingfield in the manner of one who could be way ahead of his mark. Bonnie's Boy shaped well when denied a clear run on the all-weather and he could be well-suited by the demands of this big-field handicap, as might Lady Roxby who showed a sharp turn of foot at Beverley and could hold her own back up in grade. Luna A Inbhir Nis has won four of her last five starts and should go well again.
