Progressive in maidens as a juvenile, off the mark at third time of asking at Epsom (8.5f) last season. Didn't appear to grow much prior to his 3-y-o season and has finished well held in listed and group company this year. Should be better off in a handicap but this looks very competitive.

Typical Sir Mark Prescott improver is thriving with racing, better than ever when readily landing a hat-trick over this C&D earlier in the month, despite looking anything but the finished article. Up in class but looks the type to go on improving. Strong claims.

Debut winner shaped well when narrowly defeated on two subsequent maiden starts (looked a strong stayer) and did all he could when upped in trip finishing seventh of 19 in the King George V handicap at Ascot (12f) last month. Step up in distance should suit and remains of interest off this mark.

Fine pedigree and built on debut promise (solid form) when defeating Gravitas in a 12f Beverley maiden in May. Improved again when a narrow second to that rival (on 7 lb worse terms) at Doncaster last month but very much open to improvement now stepped up in trip (should suit) on handicap debut.

Started his career 2-2 and far from disgraced when third in a strong Southwell maiden on final 2-y-o start. Lost his chance at the start when runner-up on reappearance but improved stepped up to this trip when fourth at Ascot 12 days ago. Looks a thorough stayer and dangerous if this is run to suit.

Reversed Beverley form with Tarriance when gamely landing a Doncaster novice (12f) in June having been well-suited by the galloping track. Held backed by his inexperience off the bridle when well held third on handicap debut at York. Wasn't knocked about that day and remains capable of better.

Forecasts

Pendragon (5/4), Tarriance (5/2), Tremorgio (8/1), Boatswain (10/1), Too Soon (10/1), Gravitas (10/1)

Verdict

Plenty remain open to improvement including PENDRAGON who looked far from the finished article when landing a hat-trick over C&D earlier this month. This typical Sir Mark Prescott improver can defy the handicapper and a rise in class to complete the 4-timer. He's likely to be up with the pace alongside Tarriance who has a fine pedigree and shapes as though he'll be suited by the step up in trip on handicap debut, while it's unlikely we've seen the best of either Tremorgio or Boatswain.
