British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap

Off time: 19:33 | Winning time: 1m 12.04s

(3)

Annsar¹²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-10| J: Jack Doughty| T: Jack Jones| OR: 80| D

4/1

Won twice on AW at Lingfield but struggled recently, finishing eighth of 9 in handicap at Chester over 7.6f (33/1) 12 days ago when slowly into stride. Interesting connections opt for a marked step back in trip now.

Form: 3-1108

Swiss Lightning¹¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: R Havlin| T: J & T Gosden| OR: 78

11/2

Won a maiden at Newmarket (7f) in April but was too free when fifth of 8 in novice race at Salisbury (5/2) 11 days ago. However, this very well-bred filly remains with potential now handicapping and switch to sprinting could see her in an even better light.

Form: 8-15

Handle With Care²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: D Egan| T: M Botti| OR: 77| D

6/1

Won at Lingfield in March and ran creditably all 4 starts since, fourth of 7 in handicap at Newmarket (9/1) 26 days ago, looking ill at ease on the track. Should give another good account.

Form: 413254

(2)

Glamour Show⁴⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Charles Bishop| T: Eve Johnson Houghton| OR: 77| D

3/1

Won a novice at Kempton (6f) in March and held form well in handicaps since, sixth of 13 in class 2 contest at York (6f) 40 days ago. Ought to be competitive returned to this less exacting company.

Form: 22-1536

(7)

Taygar¹¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-6| J: P Mulrennan| T: M Dods| OR: 71| BF| D

9/2

Churchill filly who won at Ayr (6f) 16 days ago. Finished fourth of 7 in handicap at Hamilton Park (10/3) 11 days ago, chasing leaders and keeping on after making headway. Strong contender judged on recent efforts.

Form: 832314

Lady Wingalong¹⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 9-5| J: R Kingscote| T: P D Evans| OR: 70| D

7/1

Won twice on AW in March but form has dipped since, finishing fifth of 9 in handicap at Catterick (14/1) 14 days ago when racing back up in trip. May be more effective returning to today's 6f.

Form: 118755

(8)

Mae Amor^v²¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: K Stott| T: D O'Meara| OR: 74| D

10/1

Ran well in handicaps at Ripon and York during June, placing third of 6 and fourth of 15. Seventh of 7 in handicap at Chepstow (11/2) 21 days ago when running no sort of race in first-time tongue strap (discarded here). Likely type to bounce back with visor refitted.

Form: 1-36437

Jettie's Run⁵¹

Weight: 9-12| Age: 3

T: R M Beckett J: R Kingscote

Forecasts

Jettie's Run (2/1), Glamour Show (3/1), Annsar (4/1), Taygar (9/2), Swiss Lightning (11/2), Handle With Care (6/1), Lady Wingalong (7/1), Mae Amor (10/1)

TAYGAR clearly lacks the potential of some of the 3-y-os but Michael Dods' filly arrives here as good as ever and could well be the way to go in what rates a tricky affair. Jettie's Run, Swiss Lightning and Glamour Show are a trio of the aforementioned 3-y-os to consider, too.
