Didn't need to be at his best to a complete a hat-trick (which included a hurdle win) when cosily landing a 5-runner handicap at Ffos Las (10f, good) 12 days ago. 10 lb higher but could still be ahead of the handicapper as he bids for a 4-timer.
Lightly-raced 4-y-o ran his best race to date when runner-up at Haydock in May but had little by way of excuses when well held fifth of 8 in handicap at Nottingham (10.2f, good, 10/1) 16 days ago. Will need to improve.
C&D winner was off 19 months prior to this season but has shown plenty of her ability remains, unlucky not to win when second of 9 in handicap (13/2) at this C&D (good to firm) 7 days ago, finishing strongly after being short of room. Races off 1 lb lower and remains well handicapped.
Can race lazily and turned in just a fair effort when fifth of 9 in handicap (11/1) at this C&D (good to firm) 7 days ago. Needs more if he's to break his losing run.
Course winner couldn't build on a promising C&D second when sixth of 9 in handicap at Hamilton (8.3f, good to firm) 9 days ago, too free to see out her race even dropped in trip. Steps back up in distance with Clifford Lee taking over from usual claiming rider and not discounted if settling.
Visor didn't have the same effect second time up when below form fifth of 12 in handicap (18/1) at this C&D (good to soft) 15 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Looks unlikely to break her maiden from out of the handicap.
3-time C&D winner ran as well as could be expected after 10 months off but couldn't back that up following a further 10 week absence when ninth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft, 28/1) 15 days ago, missing break. Something to prove now.
Could only run to the same level as on her return when below form fifth of 9 in handicap at Ripon (8f, good) 53 days ago. Back up in trip with plenty to find on form.
One of his better runs when respectable third of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft, 33/1) 15 days ago, doing enough to suggest this trip is just about within range. Will need to build on that if he's to record a first success upped in grade.

SPARTAN TIMES didn't have to be at his best when cosily landing a cross-code hat-trick at Ffos Las last month and could still be ahead of the handicapper. He looks a better horse on ground with give and marginally gets the vote given the unsettled forecast. Sophiesticate is readily preferred as the main danger having been unlucky not to win over C&D last time. Of the rest, Wyld Bill could still be improving.
