Bamburgh¹³

Age: 4| Weight: 10-2| J: J Fanning| T: C Johnston| OR: 75| BF

11/4

Maiden produced best effort (well placed) when second of 8 in handicap at Haydock (10.4f, good) but failed to meet market expectations on the all-weather when fifth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 13 days ago. Entitled to be in the mix down in class on return on turf.

Form: 25-6525

Ajdayet¹⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 10-2| J: J P Sullivan| T: Mrs R Carr| OR: 75

40/1

Career best when winning 7-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) on last outing for Archie Watson in September. Off 9 months (had a breathing operation in the interim) prior to stable debut when well held at Newcastle (8f) 17 days ago. May come on for that run now stepped up in trip.

Form: 66441-0

Bint Al Karama²⁵⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 10-0| J: A Mullen| T: I Jardine| OR: 73

16/1

Fair performer for Andreas Wohler in Germany last year and made winning stable debut when landing a 5-runner Musselburgh seller in October. Below form on handicap debut the following month and remains to be seen if she can bounce back now upped in trip on return from 8-month absence.

Form: 31/9316-

Spioradalta^p²⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 9-12| J: Rhys Elliott⁽⁵⁾| T: M Walford| OR: 71| D

10/3

Took advantage of drop in weights when resuming winning ways at Ripon (9.8f) in May and has held his form well in a higher grade since. Respected back in class 5 company.

Form: 0-44163

Glasses Up²⁹

Age: 10| Weight: 9-10| J: Jason Hart| T: R M Smith| OR: 69| CD

9/2

9-time C&D winner completed a course hat-trick here in May but not in the same form away from Ayr when below form eighth of 14 in handicap (22/1) at Hamilton (11.1f, good to soft) 29 days ago. Likely to be much more competitive returned to this track.

Form: 341118

(2)

Noble Testimony³⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: P J McDonald| T: E Bethell| OR: 72

18/1

Mix of speed and stamina on pedigree. Fair form in all-weather maidens but took a step back on turf debut when third of 11 in maiden at Thirsk (7f, good, 15/8) 38 days ago, slowly away. Could have more to offer if seeing out this markedly longer trip on handicap debut.

Form: 2223

(3)

Sophiesticate⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 9-1| J: Lauren Young⁽⁷⁾| T: J S Goldie| OR: 60| CD

13/2

C&D winner showed plenty of her ability remains when respectable fifth of 11 in handicap (22/1) at this course (13.1f, good to soft) 7 days ago, not ideally placed. Should give her running granted a fair pace to aim at back over 10f.

Form: 659/955

(8)

Cisco Disco^t⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 8-11| J: Kaiya Fraser| T: R M Smith| OR: 54

11/1

Can race lazily but turned in best effort of the season when second of 13 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft) 7 days ago, typically carried head a bit high under pressure. Claims from 2 lb out the handicap but isn't one for maximum faith.

Form: 027-692

(7)

Sure And Stedfast⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 8-8| J: Joanna Mason| T: Ewan Whillans| OR: 63

7/1

Caught the eye when good fourth of 11 in handicap at Hamilton (8.3f, good, 28/1) 40 days ago, finishing with running left in a race that has produced winners. Needed a stiffer test when eighth of 13 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft) 7 days ago. Looks to be some pace on here and could go well.

Form: 484-848

Forecasts

Bamburgh (11/4), Spioradalta (10/3), Glasses Up (9/2), Sophiesticate (13/2), Sure And Stedfast (7/1), Cisco Disco (11/1), Bint Al Karama (16/1), Noble Testimony (18/1), Ajdayet (40/1)

SURE AND STEDFAST has shown enough to suggest he's capable of defying this sort of mark and has solid claims if getting a stronger pace to aim at here. He's marginally preferred to Spioradalta who has held his form well since winning earlier in the season, while fellow class-dropper Bamburgh is respected back on turf.
