Readily off the mark in Newbury maiden on reappearance before not seen to best effect (had a wide trip) when fifth to Derby 1-2 Lambourn and Lazy Griff in Chester Vase. Resumed progress when excellent second in Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot and solid claims with stamina assured.
Came good in first-time cheekpieces (retained) when seeing off 6 rivals in 1½m Thirsk handicap and seemed to excel himself when a never-nearer sixth in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot (behind Furthur and Scandinavia).
Off the mark in Southwell novice on return and ran well behind a pair of Aidan O'Brien colts in the Lingfield Derby Trial. Made good late headway when eighth of 18 in Derby at Epsom and that form is the best on offer.
Off the mark at the fourth time of asking in maidens when making all on 1¼m Navan reappearance. Stepped up plenty on that upped in trip when fifth in Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot and closely matched with Furthur on that form. Headgear a possible plus.
Useful form but was behind 3 of these rivals when seventh in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot.

Forecasts
Scandinavia (11/8), Nightime Dancer (11/4), Furthur (7/2), Titanium Emperor (8/1), Hallelujah U (20/1)
NIGHTIME DANCER caught the eye with his late progress when eighth in the Derby and gets the vote back down in class. All 4 of his rivals ran at least creditably in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot, with Scandinavia arguably shaping best.
