Latest win at Ripon in May. Respectable fifth of 11 in handicap (3/1) at Wetherby (8f, good to firm) 11 days ago, faring best of those held up. Can make presence felt.

Gained both career wins at Ayr and hit the ground running in 2024 but low-key efforts in 2 starts since returning this spring. Finds himself operating 1 lb below last winning mark now at least if bouncing back.

Well prepared to make a winning reappearance on stable debut at Musselburgh (9f) in April. Similar form in finishing midfield both starts since from revised mark and he ought to go well again with blinkers now the headgear of choice.

Cracksman gelding who has ran to a fair level on 2 of his 3 starts to date, left with lot to do when sixth of 10 in novice at Windsor (8.1f, good, 12/1) 21 days ago. Appeals as the type to do better in handicaps but assessor hasn't taken any chances with his opening mark.

Gained a second C&D success in May and was certainly unlucky not to finish much closer when fifth of 6 in handicap back here 8 days ago, denied a run from home turn and finishing with running left. Certainly worth considering for yard firmly amongst the winners.

Landed a 7f Catterick maiden (7f) last summer and showed up well on first 2 starts in handicaps at Beverley this spring. Ran no sort of race making all-weather debut when last of 7 in handicap at Lingfield (1m) 25 days ago but he appeals as the type to bounce back returned to turf.

Forecasts

I Am Me (13/8), Mount King (4/1), Cosmos Raj (4/1), Boy Douglas (6/1), Hot Property (9/1), Pebble Island (14/1)

Verdict

I AM ME has made a bright start for the Ed Bethell stable, off the mark on return/handicap debut at Musselburgh in April and far from disgraced in defeat either outing since. Taking on his elders for the first time with blinkers now reached for, he looks one of the likelier types dropping back to 1m. Mount King had a luckless run here 8 days ago and he's feared for the in-form Tim Easterby yard, as is top weight Cosmos Raj who is holding his form well.
