Dual winner over 1m last year and wasted no time getting back to form when runner-up in a 6-runner handicap over C&D 13 days ago, had to wait for gap 2f out and ran on. Remains below his last winning mark and should be in the mix again.

Thriving on the all-weather earlier this season but again failed to make an impact on turf when well held in a 7f Chester handicap earlier this month, for all he was drawn badly and keener than ideal. Others arrive with more solid claims.

C&D winner off a 3 lb lower mark last season. Yet to match that form in two starts this season, the latest under an inexperienced jockey when well held at Yarmouth (7f). Step up in trip could help but will need to improve on what she's shown so far this campaign.

Landed a hat-trick on the all-weather over the winter but hasn't been in that sort of form on turf this season, faring no better when sixth of 10 over C&D on first start following a wind operation. Now steps back to 1m with cheekpieces refitted and has a little bit to prove.

C&D winner rattled off a quick-fire hat-trick in handicaps at around 1m last summer (off marks in the 60s) but is struggling for form at present. May need further leniency from the handicapper.

Best form for current connections has come on the all-weather, landing a pair of 1m Kempton handicaps this winter. Probably needed the run over the same C&D last month and remains to be seen whether he can rediscover his best turf form with Hollie Doyle aboard for the first time.

Built on promise shown in maidens when finding plenty of improvement on second handicap start, making the most of a lenient handicap mark when landing a 10-runner handicap at Hamilton (8.3f, good) with something to spare. Open to further improvement and could still be ahead of the handicapper.

Course winner over 7f (under this jockey) last season and an unproductive spell on the all-weather has seen him fall to a handy mark. Possibly still working his way to full fitness on first two outings of this season and looks interesting from a career low mark in first time cheekpieces.

Debut winner at Wolverhampton (7.2f) in March and improved in cheekpieces on second start in handicap company to land a 9-runner handicap at Windsor (8.1f), stayed on to lead dying strides. May step forward again and is likely be seen to best effect if this is truly run.

Maiden has yet to improve for the switch to handicaps and checked out tamely at Hamilton (8.3f) last month. Will need to raise his game here.

Forecasts

Obito (11/4), Hale End (5/1), Charencey (11/2), Bravo Zulu (7/1), Bowood (15/2), Bella Bisbee (11/1), Aviano (11/1), Springbok (11/1), Vibrato (14/1), Monopolise (33/1)

Verdict

OBITO was much improved when getting off the mark at Hamilton 10 days ago and could still be ahead of his handicap mark. He appeals most ahead of Charencey (wears first time cheekpieces) who won at this course last season and has fallen to a tempting mark, while the lightly-raced Aviano remains open to improvement following his Windsor success last month.
