Lope De Vega colt who sported a hood and looked green when fourth on debut in a 6-runner Lingfield novice (6f, good) earlier this month. Headgear now discarded and, likely to be a good deal sharper this time, he's a big player.

Foaled March 13. €150,000 yearling, New Bay colt. Half-brother to 2-y-o 6f winner Jettie's Run. Dam US 5f winner (including at 2 yrs). Ticks plenty of the right boxes on paper and the betting will be revealing.

Foaled April 1. 24,000 gns 2-y-o, Cotai Glory colt. Dam 2-y-o 7f winner. Yard rarely strikes with juveniles and it's likely that this one will also prove to be more of a long-term project.

Foaled March 30. £75,000 yearling, Profitable colt. Brother to useful winner up to 5.7f Swift Asset. Dam unraced. Yard's newcomers typically come on for a run, but he needs a second look in the betting all the same. Equipped with a tongue strap.

Backed at long odds and showed clear signs of ability starting out in a Class 2 York novice (6f, good), finishing seventh of the 11 runners but beaten less than 4 lengths. With improvement on the cards and Ryan Moore booked, he makes plenty of appeal.

Half-brother to 3 winners and didn't shape at all badly when fourth of 7 in a 6f Goodwood novice on recent debut, leaving the impression that he'd be all the better for the experience. Entitled to build on that and, if so, he will surely have a part to play in the finish.

Forecasts

Romeo Montague (2/1), Dryburgh (11/4), Beckford's Folly (3/1), Rydale Frosty (7/2), Glittering Show (28/1), Giles Glory (80/1)

Verdict

Having shaped well in what looked a pretty decent race on debut at York, ROMEO MONTAGUE gets the nod with Ryan Moore doing the steering. Dryburgh is the clear pick of the trio of newcomers and this €150,000 yearling purchase is feared most ahead of Beckford's Folly and Rydale Frosty, both of whom are likely to come on for their initial outings.
