Proper Job Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 17:58 | Winning time: 4m 7.21s

Feel The Pinch^t¹³⁷

Age: 11| Weight: 12-0| J: Mr James King| T: R L Llewellyn| OR: 103| CD

7/2

C&D winner around this time last year and following an unsuccessful spell chasing, he hinted at a revival when fourth of 10 to The Grey Man in handicap hurdle at Leicester in January. Disappointing at Bangor soon after and off since.

Juggernaut^t²³⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 12-0| J: Toby McCain-Mitchell⁽³⁾| T: A J Honeyball| OR: 103

2/1

Not fully exposed and produced a big career best when opening his account in handicaps at Stratford in October. Off 7 months but he's in good hands and is dangerous if returning at that level.

Form: 31/5731-

Adjali¹⁴⁰

Age: 10| Weight: 11-12| J: Mr Sean P O'Connor⁽⁵⁾| T: Mrs S Leech| OR: 101| D

28/1

One-time useful hurdler who snapped a lengthy losing sequence in France in June 2023. Restricted to just 3 runs since, back with this yard after pulling up both outings for Hugo Merienne during the winter.

Form: 9515/PP-

Roadshow^p1,t³⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 11-8| J: Miss Olive Nicholls⁽³⁾| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 102

7/1

Fairly useful winner on Flat in France for Andre Fabre. Promise in maiden/novice hurdles for new yard this spring and looks well weighted now handicapping back in distance. Major claims with cheekpieces added.

Form: 34-23

Thahab Ifraj²²⁴

Age: 12| Weight: 11-7| J: Jack Andrews| T: Alexandra Dunn| OR: 96

20/1

Won at Exeter in October 2023 and went close in that corresponding race last year. Couple of tame efforts to end 2024 so has a bit to prove on return from an absence.

Form: 61/827P-

Gallant Geronimo^p1,t²³

Age: 9| Weight: 10-9| J: Miss Aimee Jones⁽⁷⁾| T: M Comley| OR: 84

40/1

Little to shout about in 5 starts Colin A.McBratney, last seen under Rules in February 2022. Has won a point since and was third in that code at the beginning of the month.

Form: 5PP1-33

Colonel Lesley^p²⁰

Age: 9| Weight: 10-7| J: Miss Heidi Palin⁽³⁾| T: R G Hawker| OR: 82| CD

13/2

Dual handicap hurdle winner in 2022, latterly over C&D. Very lightly raced since and almost certainly needed reappearance/stable debut over C&D 3 weeks ago. Cheekpieces back on.

Form: 32U25-6

Rule 4

Rule 4 applies to all bets - deduction 25p in the pound

Non-Runners

Clearance⁴⁸

Weight: 12-0| Age: 11

T: M Blake J: Mr Zac Baker

Forecasts

Juggernaut (2/1), Clearance (3/1), Feel The Pinch (7/2), Colonel Lesley (13/2), Roadshow (7/1), Thahab Ifraj (20/1), Adjali (28/1), Gallant Geronimo (40/1)

ROADSHOW is well treated on his Flat form in France and back around 2m for handicap debut and also in receipt of a 4-y-o allowance, he has plenty to recommend him. Juggernaut was on the up when last seen so he's a player, along with veteran Clearance.
