On Edge^p²⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 10-2| J: Gina Mangan| T: C Mason| OR: 70| D

6/1

Narrow winner of 5f Windsor handicap last June and positive start to this season when third of 12 on return there (6f, good to firm) at the end of May. Mark unchanged and should give a good account with that run under his belt.

Form: 22015-3

Mojomaker^p,t⁴²

Age: 6| Weight: 10-1| J: Rossa Ryan| T: D Loughnane| OR: 69

11/4

Yet to add to the Sandown novice that he won at 2 yrs but, to his credit, he's pretty consistent and hasn't done much wrong in 4 outings so far this season. Lurking on a dangerous mark, trip/ground fine and the return of cheekpieces unlikely to be a bad thing, so there is cause for optimism.

Form: 383335

(9)

Spanish Star¹⁴

Age: 10| Weight: 10-0| J: David Probert| T: P R Chamings| OR: 68| C| D

15/2

Losing run continues to mount, but the upside is his falling mark (now 22 lb lower compared to when last hitting the target at Epsom in June 2023) and posted his best effort for a while when third at Salisbury (6f, good to firm) a fortnight ago. Definite chance here if able to build on that.

Form: 678-653

(7)

The Bitter Moose^v¹⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: Jim Crowley| T: P R Chamings| OR: 63

40/1

Back-to-back AW winner in 2023, but he's 0-14 on turf and has barely beaten a rival home in 4 starts so far this season.

Form: 22-7005

(10)

Silent Flame²⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 9-9| J: Oliver Searle⁽⁵⁾| T: B R Millman| OR: 63| CD

10/1

Last 3 visits here have yielded 2 wins and a close third. Latest success was gained off this mark at Goodwood last August and, likely to be all the better for her reappearance spin at Carlisle last month, she is dangerous to discount returned to this venue.

Form: 32100-7

(8)

Moostar^p1¹⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: D Egan| T: Darryll Holland| OR: 69| D

28/1

Steady improver in handful of runs as a juvenile, signing off with success on nursery debut at Thirsk (6f, good) in September. However, further progress has not been forthcoming in a couple of appearances this season and she looks vulnerable.

Form: 7731-76

(4)

Camera Shy^v²²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: W Buick| T: M L W Bell| OR: 69| D

8/1

Hasn't added to his Newmarket 2-y-o debut success in 8 subsequent starts, but shaped well off 3 lb higher when fourth of 15 at Windsor (6f, good to firm) in April. Wasn't seen to best effect over the same C&D in a first-time visor (retained) last time and interesting here with William Buick booked.

Form: 946408

(11)

Moby Quick^b1³¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: Callum Shepherd| T: George Scott| OR: 67

7/1

Returned to form in first-time cheekpieces when second of 8 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) on penultimate start. Below par back at 7f last time, but each-way chance returned to this trip, provided he responds well to the new headgear (sports blinkers for the first time).

Form: 3-24827

(3)

Phoenix Moon⁴⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 9-3| J: Rob Hornby| T: D J Coakley| OR: 57| D

13/2

Landed two 6f AW handicaps at Lingfield last year and resumed from 5 months off with a good third at that venue in April. Found things tougher from out of weights at Ascot latest, but races off correct mark here and, eased slightly in grade, she's one to consider.

Form: 1331-35

(2)

Sarafina Mshairi¹²⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: Ashley Lewis⁽⁷⁾| T: E Smyth-Osbourne| OR: 62

13/2

Made the frame in her 3 qualifying runs and built on solid handicap debut third at Wolverhampton (6f) when striking over 5f there when last seen in February. 4 lb rise tolerable, but more will be needed up in grade for this turf debut.

Form: 434-31

(13)

The Cola Kid^b,t¹⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 8-12| J: Ray Dawson| T: G Harris| OR: 52| D

28/1

Brought the curtain down on a long losing run when overcoming traffic problems to land a classified event at Bath (5.7f, good to firm) recently. More on his plate back in handicap company.

Forecasts

Mojomaker (11/4), On Edge (6/1), Sarafina Mshairi (13/2), Phoenix Moon (13/2), Moby Quick (7/1), Spanish Star (15/2), Camera Shy (8/1), Silent Flame (10/1), Sorontar (10/1), Nacho Nacho Nacho (12/1), The Cola Kid (28/1), Moostar (28/1), The Bitter Moose (40/1)

Several to consider in this competitive handicap, with CAMERA SHY shading preference with William Buick in the hot-seat. He had excuses last time and a reproduction of his Windsor fourth in April would give him every chance off this reduced mark. Mojomaker's losing run/strike rate temper enthusiasm somewhat but he usually runs his race and is likely to do so once again, while On Edge enters calculations on the back of his solid reappearance effort and Silent Flame is interesting back here.
