18/1

Paid his way during an intensive 2024 campaign, winning 5 times in total. However, he was safely held following a break/another wind op on debut for new yard at Yarmouth last month. Blinkers refitted.

Expert Agent^p²²

Age: 5| Weight: 9-9| J: Marco Ghiani| T: S C Williams| OR: 70| D

18/5

Resumed with a solid third of 8 in handicap at Kempton (6f) last month. Failed to build on that next time, but he's dangerous to discount now 4 lb below the mark off which he hit the target at Windsor last summer.

Form: 0000-37

Ziggy's Queen^t²⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: O McSweeney⁽³⁾| T: R A Fahey| OR: 70| D

7/2

Didn't need to improve to win 8-runner Wolverhampton handicap (6f) on penultimate start, but she was put in her place at Pontefract since and is just 1-18 on turf.

Form: 33-0515

World Of Darcy^b⁴⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: Laura Pearson| T: J Ryan| OR: 69| D

16/1

Stepped up on his reappearance effort when fourth of 8 at Kempton (6f) in April, but wasn't in the same form over the same C&D since and his best turf form has come on slower ground.

Form: 165-646

(3)

Royal Musketeer³⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 9-7| J: Ray Dawson| T: Steph Hollinshead| OR: 68| D

5/2

Won at Wolverhampton following a 4-month break in January. Not in same form next 2 starts, but back on track when third on the other course here (6f, good to firm) last month and a reproduction of that will put him firmly in the picture.

Form: 20-1593

(7)

Caffu Zafeen³²

Age: 4| Weight: 9-5| J: N Callan| T: D M Simcock| OR: 66

5/1

Maiden who was runner-up on 3 of his 5 starts as a 3-y-o for James Tate. Hasn't pulled up any trees in a handful of appearances for present connections, but his latest run at Windsor (first following a wind op) was on the back of a 3-month break and he will be sharper now.

Form: 246-666

(10)

Jimmy Knocker^t⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-2| J: Dylan Hogan| T: Andi Brown| OR: 63| D

14/1

Newcastle winner in January and while he failed to fire on his next 3 starts, the 4-y-o took a step back in the right direction when fouth returned to turf at Yarmouth (6f, good) last week. Place possibilities off the same mark here.

Form: 4-17054

(9)

Temple Bruer^p,t²⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 9-2| J: Daniel Muscutt| T: M Murphy| OR: 63| CD

16/1

C&D winner off a much higher mark 2 years ago and regained the winning thread at Chelmsford in February. More miss than hit since, though, and it's probably best to look elsewhere.

Form: 9-18748

(5)

Roman Emperor^p¹¹

Age: 4| Weight: 8-4| J: Tyler Heard| T: J Ryan| OR: 50| D

18/1

Sole success to date from 25 starts came in an AW novice back in January 2024. Latest third of 10 at Brighton (7f, good) was a solid effort, but whether he'll be able to build on that remains to be seen.

Forecasts

Royal Musketeer (5/2), Ziggy's Queen (7/2), Expert Agent (18/5), Caffu Zafeen (5/1), Havana Sky (7/1), Jimmy Knocker (14/1), Temple Bruer (16/1), World Of Darcy (16/1), Roman Emperor (18/1), Bluebells Boy (18/1)

HAVANA SKY is just 1 lb higher compared to when completing the five-timer at Wolverhampton in December and, on the back of a fairly encouraging run back from a four-month break at Yarmouth, he could be the answer. Caffu Zafeen has slipped to a dangerous-looking mark and is next on the list ahead of Royal Musketeer and World of Darcy.
