Had an excellent 2024, winning 4 times, including Deutsches St Leger at Dortmund. More miss than hit so far this year, but shaped as if better for the run after 3 months off over an inadequate trip at Haydock latest

Resumed progress/winning ways in determined fashion at Yarmouth (10.1f) in August and again ran well when third of 15 at Meydan (9.9f, good) 4 months later. Pulled his chance away in a similar event there last time and will need to settle better over this still longer trip.

Useful hurdler who was progressive in this code last term, running out a wide-margin winner of a Killarney handicap and backing that up with a good second at York. Seemed to go off the boil a bit in the autumn, though shaped okay under a considerate ride in a Down Royal listed event last month.

Progressive equipped with headgear for Andrew Balding last term, winning a brace of handicaps at up to 14f. Cemented a positive start over hurdles for new yard when landing a 2m Ballinrobe maiden last month and could go well back in this sphere.

Dual winner at 2 yrs but has yet to add to his tally, though faced a stiff task in a strong renewal of the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh last time. Significantly up in trip for a belated handicap debut.

Showed smart form at best for Sir Michael Stoute but ended 2024 with a pair of below-par efforts in listed company and went backwards from his reappearance when well a well-beaten last of 4 in listed race at Nottingham in April. Tongue strap refitted.

Well-bred individual who continues to go the right way, value for extra over the result when winning 8-runner handicap at Goodwood (14f, good) 24 days ago, overcoming plenty of trouble. Open to further improvement, especially now fitted with blinkers.

Useful performer who ran well on form when 4½ lengths fourth of 6 to the now retired Kyprios in listed race (40/1) at Navan (14f, soft) 52 days ago. Merits consideration back in handicap company.

Showed useful form when successful on 3 of his 4 starts at up to 9.95f in France for Jean-Claude Rouget. Sold for €315,000 and made a successful hurdling bow at Naas prior to finishing well held in the Triumph Hurdle. Interesting back in this sphere upped markedly in trip with Ryan Moore booked.

Produced a career best from somewhat out of the blue when winning 5-runner handicap at Newmarket (12f, good to firm) 32 days ago, making running and finding plenty. 4 lb rise seems fair and the return to further shouldn't pose him any problems.

Multiple winner in handicap company last year and has shown improved form this season, running a cracker to finish third in listed company at Goodwood on penultimate outing. However, was too free back in handicap company in race won by French Master at Goodwood last time.

Big improver since stepped up in trip, making it 5 in a row when scoring readily by 4 lengths at Southwell (2m) in April. Good second under a penalty in Chester Cup before resuming winning ways in 6-runner handicap at Haydock (16.2f). Up 4 lb but further progress can't be ruled out.

Useful performer who posted an excellent third in Copper Horse Handicap last June before running creditably in the Ebor at York. Shaped well in a pair of competitive handicap chases prior to running below form in the Red Rum at Aintree. Handy 5-lb claimer up on return to this code.

Has developed into a smart performer, cranking it up another notch when winning 4-runner conditions stakes at Southwell (11.1f) in January. However, came up short in his hat-trick bid in deeper waters back there last time and it remains to be seen if he's as effective on turf.

Useful gelding who returned to this code on the back of a wide-margin win over hurdles. Could well have a say.

Looked a smart prospect last year when winning maiden (10.7f) and minor event (12.8f) last July. Down the field on handicap debut/reappearance at the Curragh last month but should strip fitter for the outing and of some interest back up markedly in trip.

FRENCH MASTER did well to overcome plenty of trouble at Goodwood on his most recent outing and is a straightforward choice to follow up, especially with further progress surely on the cards now fitted with blinkers (has shown a tendency to race in snatches). Charlus is totally unexposed for a stable that has won the last 2 renewals of this race, so he's of firm interest also, with the highly-progressive Caballo de Mar and Aeronautic others to note.
