Winner of 2022 Sky Bet York Stakes (Group 2) and added another C&D success to his CV when landing a big-field handicap at the Ebor meeting last summer. Now 1 lb below that winning mark, but he needs to bounce back in a major way following low-key efforts in listed company this spring.
Looked good when making a winning start at Newmarket last June and probably unsuited by the course and soft ground when runner-up at Chester next time. Firmly back on track when cosily seeing off the re-opposing Sovereign Sea and 12 others on return/handicap bow at Newbury (1¼m, firm). Up 10 lb.
Won twice in 2024 and has already matched that tally this year, bagging back-to-back Hamilton handicaps last month. By no means disgraced in a fairly valuable contest at Haydock recently, but he's probably a shade too high in the weights for now.
Winner of first 4 starts for current connections, including a 1¼m Redcar handicap on his seasonal reappearance. Went down narrowly in the Zetland Gold Cup over the same C&D next time and, with just 8 runs under his belt, this 4-y-o may well have more to offer.
Debut winner at Newcastle (1m) in November and found only one too good all 4 subsequent starts, including when ½-length second to Burrito on handicap/turf debut upped to this trip at Newbury. In top hands and, on that evidence, he should have a good pot in him this year.
Again paid his way in 2024, winning handicaps at Redcar and over this C&D at the start of last summer. However, he's entitled to need the run on debut for new yard following an 8-month absence.
Ended last season in good heart, winning 3 of his final 4 starts of that campaign. Built on encouraging reappearance when adding another handicap to his tally at Redcar (1¼m, good to firm) where he just touched off the re-opposing See That Storm. 5 lb rise may put this just out of his reach.
In good form on the AW this winter and shaped well back from 3 months off at Newcastle in April. He struggled back on turf here next time, though, and he's probably worth taking on once again.
Well held first 2 starts of this season, but returned to form (and did well under the circumstances) when third of 13 in a 1½m Kempton handicap 16 days ago. This drop back in trip won't be an issue and he has to enter calculations.
Scored at Pontefract during the autumn and has resumed with good efforts in defeat at Redcar and Chester. Nearer last than first over this C&D last time, but that may have come too soon (just 8 days after a big effort at Chester) and this 6-y-o is not without an each-way chance.
Looked better than ever when keeping on well to land a Chester handicap (10.3f, good to soft) on his return/first run since being gelded last month. Has a few of these behind that day, but a 4 lb rise could be enough to anchor him in this stronger race.
Signed off 2024 with 1m victory here and left his tame reappearance run well behind when fifth of 13 over this C&D last month. Eased 1 lb since and probably won't be too far away, but some of these are more appealing.

Burrito (9/5), See That Storm (7/2), Sovereign Sea (13/2), Paddy The Squire (8/1), Liberty Coach (9/1), Austrian Theory (12/1), Sir Busker (18/1), Zain Blue (22/1), Faylaq (22/1), Ron O (33/1), Siempre Arturo (33/1), Dark Moon Rising (33/1)
BURRITO and Sovereign Sea pulled nicely clear of the rest when first and second respectively in a Newbury handicap last month, and the progressive 4-y-os may well come to the fore once again. The winner was hit with a 10 lb rise for that, but he almost certainly has more to offer and is taken to confirm his superiority over Roger Varian's representative. See That Storm is taken to reverse Redcar placings with Liberty Coach and is also shortlisted, along with Siempre Arturo.
