Al Waseela²⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: T E Whelan| T: Ollie Sangster| OR: 70| D

11/10

7/1, career best when winning 12-runner handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 25 days ago. Has to be taken seriously with this 3 lb higher mark by no means prohibitive.

Form: 2161-41

(7)

Ventura Dream^b1¹⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: William Cox| T: A Watson| OR: 69| D

33/1

Winner at Southwell in February. Eighth of 10 in a handicap on turf debut at Nottingham (8.3f, good to firm, 14/1) 14 days ago. Hopes pinned on the first-time blinkers doing the trick.

Form: 69-1738

(3)

Ruling Master^b1¹⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: Connor Planas⁽³⁾| T: M Botti| OR: 67

28/1

Seventh of 8 in handicap (9/2) at Yarmouth (10.1f, good to firm) 10 days ago and now tried in blinkers.

Form: 4823-57

Thiscouldbefun^p¹⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: Georgia Dobie| T: J S Moore| OR: 67| D

16/1

Respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good to firm, 14/1) 14 days ago. Eased 2 lb and she's not without each-way hope.

Form: 323-315

(5)

Barry's Boy²¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: George Bass| T: D J Coakley| OR: 66

4/1

7/1, good fourth of 10 in handicap at Doncaster (8f, good to firm) 21 days ago, slowly away. Place possibilities.

Form: 04034-4

(1)

Miss Calvados^b1,h1⁷⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: Enzo Crublet⁽³⁾| T: D Menuisier| OR: 62

150/1

Last of 8 in maiden at Chelmsford City (10f, 80/1) 77 days ago. Sports a first-time headgear combination of blinkers and a hood for this handicap debut.

Form: 75-8

(6)

Blue Train^p⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: N Callan| T: W J Knight| OR: 61| BF

4/1

Below form seventh of 12 in handicap (7/2) at Doncaster (8f, firm) 7 days ago. Went close over this C&D on penultimate start and while that form is not particularly strong, he nevertheless merits consideration on that evidence.

Form: 869-727

(4)

Live Each Day^t²⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 8-12| J: Jack Doughty⁽³⁾| T: S C Williams| OR: 59

16/1

Lightly-raced winner. Tongue strap on for 1st time, career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 14/1) 24 days ago. The challenge is now to build on that returned to turf but, raised just 1 lb and with the extra furlong here a likely plus, she's a must for the shortlist.

Form: 0-871

Forecasts

Al Waseela (11/10), Barry's Boy (4/1), Blue Train (4/1), Dollyana (17/2), Live Each Day (16/1), Thiscouldbefun (16/1), Ruling Master (28/1), Ventura Dream (33/1), Miss Calvados (150/1)

The vote goes to AL WASEELA, who made it three wins from her last five starts when accounting for 11 rivals at Nottingham last time and this 3 lb higher mark is unlikely to be a barrier to further gains. Fellow last-time-out scorer Live Each Day could be the one to follow her home, while Blue Train will also be a threat if able to reproduce the form of his C&D near-miss and Barry's Boy needs a second look, too.
