Some encouragement at Chelmsford (10f) making a belated debut in October and ran to a similar level when third of 4 in novice at Kempton (8f) the following month, albeit no match for the front pair. Faces a tough ask against her younger rivals.

Overcame inexperience when making a winning debut at Southwell (7.1f, 28/1) in February and, though she failed to meet expectations (6/4), shaped well when third in novice at Kempton (8f) 45 days ago. Remains with potential upped further in trip.

Golden Horn filly. Half-sister to 2-y-o 7f winner Young And Fun and 8.6f winner Crimson Coronet. Dam, 1m-1¼m winner, closely related to very smart 1½m-1¾m winner Courage Mon Ami. Yard won this with a newcomer in 2023 and she's one to note on debut.

Very slowly away when well held on debut, but showed much more after 8 months off when fourth of 8 in maiden at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 26 days ago (Mythical Bird ahead in second), despite still looking a work in progress. More needed but she could yet do better.

Chased home a couple of subsequent winners when third on reappearance and ran to similar level when headed on the line in novice at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 18 days ago. Bred to be suited by this longer trip and she can give another good account.

Went the right way with each start at 2 yrs and progressed again after 7 months off when narrowly denied in a Wolverhampton maiden (9.5f) 26 days ago, despite needing a stronger gallop. Enters calculations with more still to offer.

Half-sister to 3 winners, including very smart winner up to 1½m Teona, and fitted with a hood for debut she went close when second of 7 in maiden at Chelmsford City (10f) 16 days ago, despite looking in need of the experience. Respected with improvement to come.

Never a threat on her first start, but proved a different proposition upped in trip after 6 months off when second of 5 in maiden at Kempton (11f) 39 days ago. Has a bit to find, but she's open to improvement with tongue strap applied.

Showed fair form in maidens for Joseph Patrick O'Brien, before hampered and clipping heels when seventh of 11 in novice at Southwell (7.1f) on stable debut in November. Needs to find extra upped in trip on her return.

Forecasts

Stateira (15/8), Mythical Bird (4/1), Empress Of All (9/2), Mahogany Bay (15/2), Song Brocade (9/1), Alibey (11/1), Liberate (14/1), Rose Cotton (18/1), Lieutenant Lily (33/1), I Can Imagine (50/1), Thankyou Baroness (66/1), Llangynin Lass (100/1)

Verdict

Having caused a surprise when winning on debut, STATEIRA again shaped promisingly when third behind exciting prospect Kon Tiki (successful at York since) at Kempton last month, so she is taken to double her tally with this longer trip to suit. Empress of All is feared most with the benefit of her debut experience behind her, while Mythical Bird could also be in the mix.
