Useful chaser in his prime for Phil Kirby but is more than 3 years without a win and was soon beaten once was pressure was applied at Carlisle when last seen in March. Blinkers go on but others still preferred despite drop in grade.
Scored at Sedgefield in March but seemingly in a bit of a lull at present, never troubling the leaders when fourth there 11 days ago. Step up in trip needs to spark revival.
Overcame significant tack issues prior to resuming winning ways at Sedgefield in February but that was a weak affair and he never really looked like following up at that track the following month. Nevertheless, he's capable of making his mark felt in this company.
Point/bumper winner who hasn't kicked on as might have been expected over jumps, again disappointing after a stable switch when down the field over hurdles at Southwell last time. Still lightly raced over fences but likely needs a shade more if he's to win here.
Thoroughly ungenine sort but, making third start for current yard, he resumed winning ways at Catterick (19.2f) in January. Very much outbattled when third at Market Rasen 15 days ago but this isn't much of a race and he's capable of scoring again
Made the track only once last season and shaped as if the run was needed when pulled up on his return at Hexham a fortnight ago. Claims if sharper this time.
Poor maiden handicap chaser did produce one of his better efforts from out of the weights when second of 9 in handicap chase at Kelso (20f, good) 32 days ago. Run of race went his way there but a replication of that form would see him in the mix.

Forecasts
Defence Witness (6/4), Beat The Edge (7/2), Toombridge (5/1), Pilgrims King (7/1), Azof Des Mottes (15/2), Wearelongterm (10/1), Whoshotthesheriff (14/1), Fearless Action (16/1)
Very hard to be bullish about any of these, with BEAT THE EDGE perhaps arriving in the most solid form despite his reluctant nature. Toombridge can race from his "proper" mark this time and isn't discounted after a good effort at Kelso last month, with Pilgrims King also considered having scored on his penultimate outing.
