Off the mark in novice at Newcastle (8f) in March, before following up at the same course (7f) 10 days later. Ran to similar level on turf/handicap debut when third of 5 at Bath (8f, firm, 6/4) 16 days ago and he's a major player with cheekpieces added.
Stepped up on reappearance run when dead-heating for first in 11-runner handicap at Ripon (8f, good to firm, 6/1) 25 days ago, his seventh success at that venue. Has also won twice at this C&D so he could make another bold bid.
Without a win last year but bounced back from a couple of lesser efforts when second of 12 in handicap at Haydock (7f, good to firm, 9/2) 11 days ago, just failing having met trouble. On a handy mark, though yet to fully prove himself at this trip.
Latest win at this C&D last summer and in better heart than form figures this year would suggest, hampered final 1f when sixth of 8 in handicap (10/1) at Newcastle (8f) 19 days ago. Back down to last winning mark so he's not ruled out.
Form has gone the wrong way this year, making second start for current yard when well-beaten last of 10 in handicap at this course (10f, good to firm, 50/1) 23 days ago. Has enough to prove at present.
Ran well after 5 months off when third at Musselburgh in April, before unsuited by slow gallop when last of 8 in handicap at Hamilton (8.3f, good to firm, 9/2) 17 days ago. Cheekpieces back on, though needs everything to drop right given his running style.

Forecasts
Commanding Prince (7/4), Hale End (5/2), Abduction (4/1), Garden Oasis (11/2), Detective (8/1), Samra Star (66/1)
COMMANDING PRINCE wasn't able to find any further progress when third of 5 at Bath on turf/handicap debut last time, but given his previous promise he is well worth another chance with cheekpieces applied. He is taken to get the better of Garden Oasis, who could go well again from the front, while Hale End has had excuses both starts so far this year.
- Garden Oasis11/2
- Hale End5/2
