Thrived switched to handicaps with cheekpieces fitted, bringing up a quick-fire 4-timer in 9-runner handicap at Ripon (8f, good to firm, 10/11) 4 days ago, keeping on well. Faced with a 12 lb penalty ahead of this but he's unexposed at this trip and merits serious consideration again.

Much improved when making a winning return in 9-runner C&D handicap last month. Found things tougher in a stronger race when fourth of 8 in handicap at Redcar (10f, good to firm) 12 days ago but the return to class 6 company very much in her favour here. Claims.
Son of Almanzor who showed ability in trio of quick-fire runs in novice events at up to 9f during October. Off 6 months/gelded, shaped as if needing the run when seventh of 8 in handicap at Redcar (10f, good to firm, 14/1) 12 days ago. Better showing not ruled out.
Thrice-raced maiden. Ninth of 12 in novice at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 200/1) 24 days ago, left with too much to do. Significantly up in trip for handicap debut and he appeals as a likely improver.
Ardad filly who ran below the form she displayed in maiden/novice contests when sixth of 8 in nursery (33/1) at Redcar (1m, soft) in November. Needs to take a step forward on return from 6 months off but it does remain early days with her.
Lightly-raced maiden. First run since leaving Jonathan Portman when well-beaten last of 12 to Zappata in handicap at Wetherby (8f, good to firm, 8/1) 16 days ago. Up in trip. Others more persuasive with cheekpieces now enlisted.
Lightly-raced maiden. Well-beaten eighth of 9 to Kimeko Glory in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 18/1) 19 days ago. Hard to warm to.
Posted a career best when shedding maiden tag in 9-runner handicap at Redcar (10f) on penultimate start but not in same form when 9¾ lengths seventh of 12 to Zappata in handicap at Wetherby (1m) 16 days ago. Much better off at the weights with that rival here.
Lightly-raced maiden who showed a little more on second start following wind surgery when 3 lengths third of 4 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f) 33 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and this shorter trip may well help.

Forecasts
Zappata (6/4), Kimeko Glory (11/4), Arundel (5/1), Cangofar (13/2), U S Grant (18/1), Cuda Been A Rowlex (20/1), Elizabeth's Legacy (33/1), West Kirby (33/1), Grizzieblanca (50/1)
ZAPPATA has proved a different proposition switched to handicaps with cheekpieces fitted, bringing up a quick-fire 4-timer in good style at Ripon 4 days ago. Completely unexposed at this sort of trip, he's fancied to make another bold bid conceding chunks of weight all round. Arundel promises to do better now his attentions switch to handicaps/up in trip and he, along C&D winner Kimeko Glory, heads the dangers.
