Kankin^p²³

Age: 9| Weight: 11-12| J: Kielan Woods| T: A M Hales| OR: 93

7/2

Chase winner this time last year and, returned to hurdling, took step back in the right direction when fourth of 12 in handicap at Fontwell (21.8f, good) in March. Went without cheekpieces when pulled up last time, so he could bounce back with headgear reapplied.

Goodbyemick²⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-12| J: David Bass| T: M Comley| OR: 93

9/1

Maiden pointer who showed more than previously under Rules when fifth of 10 novice hurdle at this course (16.3f) in March. In first-time tongue strap (now discarded), finished well held at Hereford last month, but he could fare better now handicapping back here.

Remember Moi^t1²⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-10| J: Miss Olive Nicholls⁽⁷⁾| T: G Nicholls| OR: 91

8/1

Placed once from 3 starts in bumpers and runner-up in a Wincanton novice (21.4f) on hurdling debut in November. However, hasn't gone on from that effort since, off 3 months ahead of finishing down the field on handicap debut last time. Tongue strap now added.

Broomfield Gale^t¹⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: Robbie David⁽⁷⁾| T: Daisy Hitchins| OR: 85

6/4

Encouraging third at Ludlow (21.3f) on stable debut in November but has failed to complete last 3 starts, though was still in the mix when running out at the second-last at Newton Abbot (21.6, heavy) 19 days ago (first run since wind op). Capable if on a going day.

Form: 377RPR-

Penthouse Poppet^p¹⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 10-10| J: R Patrick| T: M Sheppard| OR: 77

5/1

Maiden in points and under Rules, never a threat on second start for current yard when sixth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (23.6f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Cheekpieces reapplied but has work to do as she drops back in trip.

Form: 565456-

Carapaz¹⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 10-5| J: Charlie Maggs⁽⁵⁾| T: David Dennis| OR: 69

13/2

Back over hurdles after 18-month absence, made the frame for the first time when fourth of 9 in handicap at Huntingdon (25f, good to soft) 19 days ago, albeit finishing well beaten. Others preferred as he bids for a first victory.

Forecasts

Broomfield Gale (6/4), Kankin (7/2), Penthouse Poppet (5/1), Carapaz (13/2), Remember Moi (8/1), Goodbyemick (9/1)

KANKIN failed to build on the promise of his previous run when pulled up 23 days ago, but he went without the cheekpieces last time so could be worth another chance having eased further in the weights. He is preferred to Broomfield Gale, who is also on a workable mark but arrives on the back of 3 non-completions. Handicap-debutant Goodbyemick completes the shortlist.
