Lope De Vega filly who looked a useful prospect when seeing off a next-time-out winner on her 7f Salisbury debut in October. Could be capable of quite a bit better for her leading yard but she's very much pitched in at the deep end on her return.

Unbeaten in 4 outings at 2, culminating with a hugely impressive 5½-length defeat of January in the Fillies' Mile over C&D (good to soft). Likely even more to come and selected to make it 5-5.

Came up a little short in Group races on soft ground at 2 but it was a different story when faced with a quicker surface on her reappearance, winning the Group 3 Fred Darling at Newbury (7f) by 3¼ lengths from Hey Boo. Likely to stay 1m.

Impressed when making a successful start to her career in a 7f Kempton novice last August. The stable has tasted recent success in this race but it's a big ask for her to win this on second start.

Useful 2-y-o, finishing third in the May Hill at Doncaster (1m, good) and Oh So Sharp here (7f, good to soft) in the autumn. Significant improvement will be required if she's to get heavily involved here, though.

Didn't make her debut until February and has come a long way in a short time, winning maiden/novice events over 7f at Chelmsford before chasing home Duty First in the Fred Darling at Newbury (7f, good). 1m should be within range.

Frankel filly who had an outstanding juvenile campaign, winning all 5 starts, including Group 1s over 6f (Cheveley Park here), 7f (Moyglare) and 1m (Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf). Unlikely to give up her unbeaten record without a fight.

Had 3 outings over 7f at the Curragh last year, going down narrowly to Lake Victoria on her debut before easily landing short odds in another maiden. Beaten by Lake Victoria again in the Moyglare but she lost momentum at a crucial stage and remains one who could make her mark at the highest level.

Daughter of Kodiac who was absent for nearly 10 months after winning a July Course maiden last summer but made a good return to action when 2¼ lengths third of 10 to Zanzoun in Nell Gwyn over 7f here (good to soft) 19 days ago.

Won at Group 2/3 level last summer. Also chased home Lake Victoria in the Moyglare but an underwhelming reappearance in the Fred Darling leaves her with something to prove here.

Forecasts

Desert Flower (1/1), Lake Victoria (9/4), Red Letter (15/2), Elwateen (22/1), Duty First (22/1), Chantilly Lace (25/1), Flight (28/1), Simmering (33/1), Hey Boo (50/1), Remaat (125/1)

Verdict

A mouthwatering clash between unbeaten pair DESERT FLOWER and Lake Victoria. The latter won Group 1s over 3 different trips last season and isn't opposed lightly but Godolphin's charge couldn't have been more impressive in the Fillies' Mile over C&D and is narrowly preferred. Best of the rest could be Red Letter, who pushed Lake Victoria close on her debut and wasn't too far behind her in the Moyglare either despite things not going her way.
