Glasses Up³^{(ex 4)}

Age: 10| Weight: 9-11| J: Sean Kirrane| T: R M Smith| OR: 59| CD

13/8

7-time C&D winner made-all to land a 10-runner handicap (5/2) at this course (13.1f, good to firm) 3 days ago. Tougher task under a penalty but should give another good account back down in trip.

Form: 448-341

Dingwall¹⁸⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: A Mullen| T: I Jardine| OR: 61| CD

11/2

Sole win came over this C&D but tends to be slowly away in his race. Below form when 8/1, ninth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (8f). Returns from 6 months off with a chance if sharper from the stalls.

Form: 514849-

Cloud Free⁶³

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: P Mulrennan| T: F P Murtagh| OR: 61

33/1

Poorly drawn on final run for Tom Ward when ninth of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 63 days ago. Best forgiven that effort and not ruled on stable debut.

Form: 415-339

(6)

Laudable^p¹⁴⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 9-8| J: Kaiya Fraser⁽³⁾| T: T Davidson| OR: 60| CD

11/4

Landed a hat-trick last summer (first leg coming over C&D) but form tailed off towards the end of the season. Has been given a break and can go well if back on song with cheekpieces refitted.

Form: 422287-

(1)

Young Fire^p³³

Age: 10| Weight: 9-8| J: Mark Winn| T: D O'Meara| OR: 60| D

5/1

Struggled to make an impact when seventh of 18 in handicap at Doncaster (10.2f, good, 14/1) 33 days ago. One to note in the betting from the lowest mark he's ever raced off.

Form: 64-9777

(5)

Penelope's Sister²⁸⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 8-13| J: Amie Waugh⁽³⁾| T: J S Goldie| OR: 51| BF

15/2

Low mileage 5-y-o finished last season with respectable third of 7 in handicap (7/4) at Hamilton (13.1f, good to firm), travelled well. Merits consideration on return.

Form: 0/56123-

(4)

Lunar Rocks^p⁵³

Age: 4| Weight: 8-7| J: Phoebe Edwards⁽⁷⁾| T: R M Smith| OR: 45

66/1

Out of sorts on the Flat and more recently over hurdles. Best to look elsewhere.

Form: 227778-

(3)

Royal Countess^p²⁹⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 8-7| J: Rhys Elliott⁽⁵⁾| T: R M Smith| OR: 45| CD

28/1

3-time C&D winner didn't look the force of old when, 5 lengths seventh of 9 to Dingwall in handicap at this C&D (good to firm). Off 9 months and others preferred.

Form: 860/557-

Forecasts

Glasses Up (13/8), Laudable (11/4), Young Fire (5/1), Dingwall (11/2), Penelope's Sister (15/2), Royal Countess (28/1), Cloud Free (33/1), Lunar Rocks (66/1)

Last season's hat-trick scorer LAUDABLE has been given a chance by the handicapper and could notch another win if firing on all cylinders for his return. Penelope's Sister is low mileage for her age and may well have more to offer this season, while stable debutant Cloud Free also merits respect.
