Birkenhead^p²⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 9-13| J: O McSweeney| T: P T Midgley| OR: 64| CD

18/1

Three-time C&D winner. Three wins from 15 runs last year. 16/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f) 27 days ago, though that run can be forgiven given he blew the start.

Form: 013-858

(5)

Hurt You Never¹¹

Age: 6| Weight: 9-13| J: Jack Nicholls⁽⁷⁾| T: Adrian Nicholls| OR: 64| D

15/2

Three wins from 14 runs last year. 11/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) 11 days ago. May have needed that return but needs to leave form well behind.

Form: 75000-8

(11)

Crocodile Power¹⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 9-11| J: Alex Jary⁽³⁾| T: S Spencer| OR: 62| C

22/1

Thrived during second half of 2024, winning 3 times, including at this venue. 12/1, last of 10 in handicap at Pontefract (5f, good) 15 days ago, on the back foot following a tardy start.

Form: 11415-0

(1)

Let's Go Hugo²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 9-9| J: Tom Kiely-Marshall⁽³⁾| T: Ollie Pears| OR: 60| CD

10/3

C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2024. Respectable fourth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (5f, 28/1) 26 days ago, faring best of those held up. Eased 2 lb so has to be of major interest from inside stall.

Form: 96279-4

(12)

Fortunate Star²¹

Age: 5| Weight: 9-8| J: Zak Wheatley| T: D Carroll| OR: 59| CD

12/1

C&D winner. Three wins from 18 runs last year. Respectable length fifth of 10 to Kyber Crystal in handicap at Musselburgh (5f, good, 5/1) 21 days ago, keeping on when short of room. Fitness assured and he seems sure to go well if stall 12 doesn't prove to be a negative.

Form: 12-2495

(3)

Refuge^t²⁰⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 9-7| J: Archie Young⁽³⁾| T: M & D Easterby| OR: 58| D

14/1

Beverley winner from this mark in July. Seventh of 10 in handicap (22/1) at Pontefract (5f, good to soft). Off 6 months and record fresh suggests he'll need this.

Form: 515757-

(7)

Kyber Crystal^t²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 9-6| J: Kaiya Fraser| T: R Menzies| OR: 57| D

14/1

Didn't need to improve to win 10-runner handicap (14/1) at Musselburgh (5f, good) 21 days ago. 3 lb ruse shouldn't prevent a bold follow-up bid.

Form: 25263-1

(8)

Langholm^p,t¹⁴

Age: 9| Weight: 9-6| J: Rhys Elliott⁽⁸⁾| T: M Dods| OR: 57| C

20/1

Course winner. Tenth of 14 in handicap (12/1) at this course (7f, good) 14 days ago. Down in trip and cheekpieces back on so reasons to expect this time.

Form: 96570-0

(13)

Jamie's Choice¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-3| J: William Pyle| T: Miss Tracy Waggott| OR: 54| BF| D

15/2

Good second of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good, 2/1) 14 days ago. That was an excellent reappearance and she's unexposed for her age.

Form: 27152-2

(9)

Dash Gordon^p,t¹¹

Age: 4| Weight: 8-12| J: Mason Paetel⁽⁷⁾| T: M Appleby| OR: 49| D

22/1

Form: 323406

(2)

Ifonlytheycudtalk^p¹⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 8-11| J: Amie Waugh| T: T D Easterby| OR: 48| D

10/1

6/1, wasn't seen to best effect when sixth of 10 in handicap at Pontefract (5f, good) 15 days ago. This will reveal more.

Form: 32615-6

Forecasts

Let's Go Hugo (10/3), Glory Fighter (10/3), Hurt You Never (15/2), Jamie's Choice (15/2), Ifonlytheycudtalk (10/1), Fortunate Star (12/1), Kyber Crystal (14/1), Refuge (14/1), Birkenhead (18/1), Langholm (20/1), Dash Gordon (22/1), Crocodile Power (22/1), Golden Prosperity (33/1)

GLORY FIGHTER gave a good account of himself in a deeper handicap than this at Doncaster 3 weeks ago and can make the most of this ease in grade with fitness assured. Fortunate Star and Jamie's Choice are dangers assuming double-figure draws don't prove to be a hindrance.
