Well-bred colt MAELSTROM couldn't be in better hands and, with improvement anticipated now handicapping off what looks a reasonable opening mark, he gets the nod. The Feminine Urge is feared on the back of a solid effort over 5f at Catterick where she shaped as though the return to this trip would be in her favour. Blue Empress and Maids Head also enter calculations, while Gorgeous Mr George is worth a second look, too.
