Kingman colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful 1¼m winner Hidden Story and 2-y-o 1m winner Bouquet. Made plenty of appeal on paper for his leading yard and he made short work of 12 rivals on debut at Kempton in December. storming clear. Sure to leave bare form well behind.

Progressive form in 4 juvenile races and cranked it up another notch when landing 5-runner conditions stakes at Kempton (8f) 20 days ago, bit in hand. Makes tapeta debut and well worth place at this level with prospect of more to come.

Southwell winner on debut last month and didn't need to improve to defy a penalty back there 3 weeks later (8.1f) 28 days ago, slowly away but quickly leading. Uphill task in this grade.

Heavily backed prior to making a winning debut over C&D in February. Surpassed that form when second of 9 back here ago 42 days ago, no match for an exciting newcomer under a penalty. Should have more to offer, but he needs it in this company.

Very talented juvenile, progressing again when finding only one too good in Group 2 Royal Lodge trying 1m for the first time. Failed to handle conditions when 9¾ lengths last of 8 to Hotazhell in Futurity Trophy at Doncaster (8f, heavy) and this looks a good starting point for AW reappearance.

Bred to be smart and he looked a good prospect when winning 5-runner minor event at Dundalk (8f) on debut 42 days ago, well on top finish. Should improve plenty so he commands serious respect.

Forecasts

Bowmark (6/4), Royal Playwright (5/2), Glittering Legend (9/2), Titanium Emperor (13/2), Michael Scofield (12/1), Nordic Norm (33/1)

Verdict

Talented juvenile ROYAL PLAYWRIGHT can be forgiven his run in the Futurity Trophy on what was deep ground and representing a yard in outstanding form, he's taken to kick off his 3-y-o campaign in the perfect fashion switched to the AW. Glittering Legend has a very progressive profile and is the obvious threat on form, though novice winners Titanium Emperor and Bowmaker are open to plenty of progress.
