Back to something like his best when a close third in the Group 2 Hungerford at Newbury last August, before finishing around 5 lengths adrift of Ten Pounds in a Newcastle handicap later that month. Now meets that rival on 9 lb better terms but his near two-year losing run is somewhat off-putting.
Shaped well on debut at Newbury last spring and then won 3 on the bounce, notably a pretty valuable Racing League handicap over 7f at Newcastle in August. Excuses at Doncaster on final run of 2024 and this lightly-raced 4-y-o remains with potential.
Looked potentially useful during light debut campaign in 2024, which he kick-started with a decisive maiden success at Yarmouth and ended by landing a 7f handicap under Oisin Murphy on the other course here (good) in August. More needed up 6 lb in this stronger race but he should have more to offer.
Improved when registering 7f wins at Chepstow/Epsom last summer and continued her progress when making the frame in big field, fast-ground handicaps at Goodwood and York. Conditions perhaps not ideal at Ascot on final run of last term but, in any case, she may now be a shade too high in the weights.
Again paid his way in 2024 by landing 7f handicaps on the other course here in June and another at Sandown a few months later. Versatile ground-wise and there should be more races to be won with him but traditionally not at his best when fresh and he's up against some unexposed types in this.
Opened account with blinkers added at Chelmsford in October (final run for the Gosdens). Testing conditions not ideal on subsequent yard debut at Doncaster (7f) and, returned to better ground, he got back on track when scoring over the same C&D on recent reappearance in a first-time hood (retained).
Yet to run a bad race in his 10-race career to date, signing off 2024 on a high with a narrow 6f success at Newcastle and added to that on second run of present campaign when getting on top close home at Pontefract (5f, good) last week. Well worth another go at this trip and claims under a penalty.

The rain-softened ground probably didn't help TEN POUNDS at Doncaster when last seen in September and, having looked progressive prior to that, he remains of strong interest, particularly now back on a faster surface (his Leicester win last July was on good to firm). He may have most to fear from another low-mileage 4-y-o in Fifty Nifty, while Gorak, who wasn't beaten far in this off a higher mark last year, and Stanage are others with appealing claims.
