Off time: 17:12 | Winning time: 5m 2.89s

Dessie Haze⁴⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-5| J: Ellis Collier⁽⁵⁾| T: P C Dando

50/1

First sign of ability when fourth of 10 over 17f at Exeter last month, shaping as if this step up to 2½m will suit.

Form: 8-74

Dyno Dave⁴⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-5| J: James Bowen| T: N J Henderson

5/1

Fair fifth on 19.5f Chepstow debut in February but not in the same form when a remote fourth of 5 at Newbury 19 days ago. Should be thereabouts if he can recapture the Chepstow form.

Form: 54

Kap Boy⁷⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 110

6/5

Bumper winner last season. Has yet to fully confirm that promise over hurdles but his penultimate Newbury fourth is still the best form on offer here and his top yard is going much better now than when he was last seen in January. Races beyond 2m for the first time.

Form: 13-P44

Karaktere D'enfer⁸¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-5| J: Caoilin Quinn| T: T Symonds| OR: 103WS

18/1

Runner-up on debut in France but has failed to reproduce that form in 7 outings in Britain. Has undergone wind surgery since last seen in January.

Form: 4P-556P

Pyleigh Master⁶⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: Ms E L Herbison⁽⁷⁾| T: N J Hawke

5/2

Better effort in maiden hurdles when 14 lengths second of 10 over 2¾m here 10 weeks ago. Should be thereabouts again.

Form: 13-52

Sam Silver⁵³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: Lorcan Williams| T: J Scott

50/1

7/1, last of 6 in bumper at Chepstow (soft) on debut 53 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Up in trip.

Form: 6

Scorpio Rising⁹³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-5| J: K Brogan| T: O Murphy

11/2

5/1, third of 7 in bumper at Exeter (17f, heavy) on debut 93 days ago. Makes hurdles debut in an ordinary race. Respected.

Form: 3

Woodythewoodpecker⁵³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-5| J: Conor Ring| T: Evan Williams

125/1

Showed a bit in 2 bumpers but no promise in 2 maiden hurdles in February.

Form: 45P9

Brenda³⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: C O'Farrell| T: N P Mulholland

200/1

Well held in 2 bumpers for Laura Mongan and has fared no better in 2 maiden hurdles for new yard this spring.

Form: 0-9P8

Non-Runners

Golan Loop⁵⁵

Weight: 11-5| Age: 5

T: W Greatrex J: Paul O'Brien

Forecasts

Kap Boy (6/5), Pyleigh Master (5/2), Golan Loop (9/2), Dyno Dave (5/1), Scorpio Rising (11/2), Karaktere D'enfer (18/1), Dessie Haze (50/1), Sam Silver (50/1), Woodythewoodpecker (125/1), Brenda (200/1)

Perhaps KAP BOY will prove a different proposition after a break with Paul Nicholls in fine form. Pyleigh Master is respected on the back of his course second in February, while Olly Murphy's Scorpio Rising showed enough when third in a bumper to think he could make an impact in a race like this.
