Rock Hunter¹¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Callum Shepherd| T: Lemos Souza| OR: 79| D

11/1

Quite useful early 2-y-o last year but his form tailed off. Eighth of 9 in novice at Wolverhampton (5f, 7/2) when last seen in November. Others are preferred.

Captain Kinsella⁸⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Sam Feilden⁽⁵⁾| T: J Gallagher| OR: 79| CD

7/2

Well beaten on turf first 2 starts but a different proposition switched to AW at the end of 2024, winning novices at Newcastle and over C&D under Sam Feilden. The form of his win here has been boosted and opening handicap mark looks workable.

Form: 00311-

Invincible Crown¹⁶³

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: J P Sullivan| T: Mrs R Carr| OR: 78| D

18/1

10/11, career best when winning 8-runner nursery at Wolverhampton (5f) in October. First run for yard after leaving Richard Hughes. The betting should help guide to expectations.

Form: 323021-

(2)

Havana Gila¹⁵⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Hayley Turner| T: Harry Eustace| OR: 77| D

13/2

Fair performer. 10/3, fourth of 6 in nursery at Nottingham (5f, heavy) when last seen in October. Off 154 days. Makes tapeta debut.

Form: 895334-

(7)

Blinky^p³⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Cam Hardie| T: A Brittain| OR: 77| D

8/1

First run since leaving Ed Walker when winning 6-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (5f) 30 days ago, cosily. Respected up 4 lb.

Form: 463-821

(3)

Until Dawn^h⁴¹

Age: 3| Weight: 8-11| J: T Eaves| T: A D Brown| OR: 67| CD

11/4

On a hat-trick after wins at Newcastle and over C&D in recent months. A 7 lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold bid.

Form: 605-411

(6)

Thurso⁵⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 8-10| J: Finley Marsh| T: R Hughes| OR: 66

12/1

Lightly-raced maiden. Has hinted at promise on occasions without making a significant impact. Made handicap debut in January over 7f and now drops 2f in trip.

Form: 778-77

(4)

Early Release¹⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 8-8| J: Saffie Osborne| T: P D Evans| OR: 64| BF| C

4/1

Course winner in December. Good third at Lingfield (5f) and Kempton (6f) since. Considered.

Form: 8971-33

Forecasts

Until Dawn (11/4), Captain Kinsella (7/2), Early Release (4/1), Havana Gila (13/2), Blinky (8/1), Rock Hunter (11/1), Thurso (12/1), Invincible Crown (18/1)

This looks quite competitive. UNTIL DAWN is taken to defy the handicapper again and complete a hat-trick but Captain Kinsella took really well to this surface with a pair of novice wins to end 2024 and could be a big threat if resuming in similar form. Early Release and Blinky arrive in form and are others to consider.
