Lope De Vega filly who made a promising start when third of 8 in maiden (14/1) at Kempton (7f) on debut 31 days ago, her challenge flattening out final 100 yds. Likely to improve.

Night of Thunder filly. Sister to 7f winner Midnight Lustre and half-sister to 2-y-o 1m winner Fariba. Dam unraced half-sister to high-class winner up to 1½m Jack Hobbs. Makes appeal on paper for good yard and market confidence behind her on debut would look significant.

Lightly-raced filly. Good third of 7 in novice (4/1) at this course (6f) 23 days ago, no extra last ½f. Likely to be vulnerable to less exposed sorts again in a race like this.

Ten Sovereigns filly who has looked in need of the experience both outings to date, again racing freely when sixth of 12 in novice (3/1) at Kempton (7f) in September. Hood goes back on and she remains capable of better.

Persian King filly. Easy to back and offered little when tenth of 12 in novice (12/1) at Newmarket (7f, soft) on debut in October. Switched yards ahead of this and she's probably best watched.

Twice-raced filly. Hooded for 1st time, didn't find a great deal of progress from debut when sixth of 10 in novice at Kempton (6f, 18/1) in October. Handicaps over further look likely to be more her bag.

Sergei Prokofiev filly who couldn't quite match debut form when fourth of 8 in novice at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 26 days ago, not knocked about. Another appealing as the type to do better in handicaps moving forward.

Promising individual. Second of 7 in novice at this course (6f, 6/1) on debut 23 days ago, keeping on final 1f. Open to improvement and she's one to consider up in trip.

Blue Point filly who showed benefit of debut run when finishing close-up third in 11-runner Yarmouth maiden (6f) in August. Left Charlie Appleby for 30,000 gns in December and she appeals as the type who could yet have more to offer. Hood/tongue tie fitted.

Expensive breeze-up buy who showed ability when fifth on debut in a Sandown maiden (5f) in July. Not in same form at Thirsk a month later and now starts out for new yard following 6 months off. Not one to write off and Billy Loughnane an eye-catching booking.

Forecasts

Scattering Light (3/1), Rescue Mission (4/1), Too Sweet (11/2), Vinatera (15/2), Pageant (17/2), Kathleen's Glory (10/1), Bella Perla (12/1), Hey Boo (16/1), Live Each Day (16/1), Phrygia (20/1), Jake Loves Laura (28/1), Sawgrass (150/1)

Verdict

SCATTERING LIGHT ran well when third in a race that has thrown up subsequent winners on her final start for Charlie Appleby last summer and, appealing as the type to progress further, she earns the vote for the stable that won this contest 12 months ago. Rescue Mission, following her encouraging debut second here, Kathleen's Glory and Vinatera are others to consider.
