I'm Too Tired^p¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 12-0| J: Sean Quinlan| T: J Candlish| OR: 100| C

13/2

Won a course hurdle around this trip last winter and also landed a 2m handicap chase here on Boxing Day. Not so good at Catterick since but his Sedgefield record affords him respect.

Pilgrims King^b,t¹⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 11-7| J: Shane Fenelon⁽⁵⁾| T: P & M Bowen| OR: 89| D

5/1

Dual 19f chase winner last term. Pulled up on his first 4 outings this season but step back in the right direction when third over 21f at Fakenham last month. Needs to show he can back that up now.

Form: 4-PPPP3

Beat The Edge⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 11-2| J: Emma Smith-Chaston⁽³⁾| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 84| D

11/4

In decent form for new yard, including a 19f Catterick win on New Year's Day. That was a weak race, though, and he was back to his weak-finishing ways when fifth over 25f back there last week. Back down in trip.

Form: 482215

Bebside Banter³⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 11-2| J: Danny McMenamin| T: C Grant| OR: 84| CD

5/4

Made a winning reappearance over 21f here in November and creditable third back here (21f again) 3 weeks later. Dropped away to finish a remote last of 4 at Catterick on New Year's Day but can bounce back to form returned to Sedgefield.

Form: 122-134

Confidential Gosip^p,t¹⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-1| J: M G Nolan| T: L Horsfall| OR: 83

22/1

Fair maiden hurdler for Jessica Harrington in Ireland but has struggled since joining Laura Horsfall. It remains to be seen whether a switch to fences makes any difference.

Form: 5688FP

Pure Surf^p⁶¹

Age: 9| Weight: 10-8| J: Edward Austin⁽⁵⁾| T: V Thompson| OR: 76| C

18/1

Dual hurdle winner (including here) for Iain Jardine in summer 2023 but has been operating below that level since joining this yard. Latest 21f course fourth was respectable but likely vulnerable for win purposes again.

Form: 487-F34

Non-Runners

Forecasts

Bebside Banter (5/4), Beat The Edge (11/4), Pilgrims King (5/1), Ceolwulf (6/1), I'm Too Tired (13/2), Pure Surf (18/1), Confidential Gosip (22/1)

BEBSIDE BANTER and I'm Too Tired both seem to save their best for Sedgefield and might be the pair to focus on, with preference for Chris Grant's charge.
