Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 7 in novice (33/1) at Lingfield (5f, AW). Significantly up in trip on handicap debut and could be open to improvement for excellent trainer/jockey combination.

C&D winner. Winner here in November. Good second of 11 in a handicap at Kempton (7f, 13/2) 19 days ago, travelled well but couldn't live with progressive winner. Good claims in first time hood.

Ran well when blinkered for first time (having left Gay Kelleway) when fourth of 7 in a handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW) 10 days ago. Up 2 furlongs and could build on promising stable debut.

Fourth of 11 in a nursery at Southwell (6.1f, 28/1) 46 days ago, staying on but never nearer. Extra furlong should help but needs to improve.

Failed to build on minor promise shown when 20/1, seventh of 8 in a handicap at Kempton (6f) 14 days ago. Best to look elsewhere.

Clearly well-suited to 7f and career-best when winning 8-runner handicap at this C&D 14 days ago, dominating from the front. Up 6 lb but would be dangerous to dismiss.

Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 8 in a nursery at Lingfield (6f, AW, 10/3) 34 days ago, still too green to do himself justice. Could be a longer-term project.

Forecasts

Invincible Melody (5/2), Arlecchino's Rex (5/2), Blue Anthem (5/1), Risk (15/2), Kaleidoscope Eyes (9/1), Makes Me Wonder (12/1), Inconspicuous (12/1), Memardee (25/1), Rogue Endeavour (50/1)

Verdict

ARLECCHINO'S REX travelled well when finishing second at Kempton last month and was only bettered by a more progressive rival. He can go one better in a first-time hood, ahead of interesting handicap debutante Invincible Melody and Blue Anthem, who both represent excellent yards. C&D winner Kaleidoscope Eyes could be dangerous if allowed to dictate matters from the front.

  2. Invincible Melody5/2
  3. Blue Anthem5/1
