Promising type. 11/4, won 11-runner novice at Southwell (6.1f) on debut 20 days ago. Open to improvement and he's high on the shortlist.

(7)

Arabian Cobra^v⁴⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: P Mulrennan| T: H Palmer| OR: 71| BF

9/2

Fair gelding. 3/1, creditable seventh of 12 in nursery at Southwell (6.1f) 40 days ago. Looks vulnerable.

Form: 068527-

(4)

Ardaddy²²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: S H James| T: Grant Tuer

33/1

Twice-raced maiden. 16/1, fourth of 7 in novice at this C&D 22 days ago. Probably more one for handicaps in due course.

Form: 4-4

(6)

Nave Force²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: Tommie Jakes⁽⁵⁾| T: Miss L A Perratt

125/1

Twice-raced maiden. 80/1, fifth of 11 in novice at this C&D 26 days ago, never nearer. Best to look elsewhere.

Form: 05-

(2)

Rainbow Nebula^v²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: O J Orr| T: R A Fahey

13/8

Once-raced maiden. Visored, third of 11 in novice at this C&D (9/2) on debut 26 days ago. May well do better with that experience under his belt.

Form: 3-

(5)

Spirit Of Newlife

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: Harry Russell| T: J & S Quinn

66/1

9,000 gns foal, 9,000 gns yearling, Expert Eye gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to smart multiple 5f winner Ornate and Richmond Stakes winner Saayerr. Highfield Artist is presumably the stable No 1.

Form:

(8)

Highfield Artist

Age: 3| Weight: 8-9| J: J P Sullivan| T: J & S Quinn

22/1

€21,000 yearling, €38,000 2-y-o, Sands of Mali filly. Half-sister to several winners, including 2-y-o 5f-6.5f winner Andhesontherun and 6f winner Prince of Bel Lir. Lots to like on paper and she needs close attention in the betting.

Form:

(3)

Sandinyourshoes⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 8-9| J: Alex Jary⁽⁵⁾| T: Mrs Stella Barclay

200/1

Twice-raced maiden. 200/1, fifth of 8 in maiden at Southwell (7.1f) 9 days ago, never nearer. Hard to fancy.

Form: 0-5

(9)

South Road^h1²²

Age: 3| Weight: 8-9| J: A Mullen| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell

40/1

Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 7 in novice at this C&D (33/1) 22 days ago. Hood on 1st time and she's another who will be of greater interest when handicapping in due course.

Form: 45-5

Forecasts

Rebel's Gamble (1/1), Rainbow Nebula (13/8), Arabian Cobra (9/2), Highfield Artist (22/1), Ardaddy (33/1), South Road (40/1), Spirit Of Newlife (66/1), Nave Force (125/1), Sandinyourshoes (200/1)

There should be better to come from RAINBOW NEBULA, who shaped well when third behind a couple of potentially decent types in a C&D novice during the Christmas period. He gets the nod. Rebel's Gamble looked promising when making a winning start to his career at Southwell and he is greatly respected, despite carrying a penalty, while newcomer Highfield Artist is appealing on paper and it'll be interesting to see how she shapes up in the betting.
