Lyons Of Limerick Jaguar Land Rover Novice Hurdle (Grade 2)

Off time: 13:33 | Winning time: 6m 15.90s

Fleur In The Park¹⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Cian Quirke| T: A Slattery

3/1

Useful in bumpers and quickly reached a similar level over hurdles, winning maiden at Wexford in October and placed in graded company both starts at 2½m since. Leaves the impression this even longer trip may stretch him, however.

Form: 224-132

Minella Sixo¹⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Jordan Gainford| T: G Elliott| OR: 133| BF| D

4/1

Landed 2 of his first 3 starts in maiden/novice hurdles and ran up to best upped further in trip/class when second of 6 in Cork Grade 3 (24.4f) 18 days ago. A repeat gives him claims again.

Form: 11212

Mister Pink³⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-3| J: Brian Hayes| T: W P Mullins

14/1

Fairly-useful bumper winner who was returning from a year off when taking 8-runner novice hurdle at Punchestown (20f, good) in October. Good ½-length second of 4 to Minella Sixo in novice hurdle at Thurles (22.9f) 5 weeks ago and a repeat gives him claims again.

Form: 2/12-12

Prends Garde A Toi¹⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Kevin Sexton| T: G Elliott| OR: 125

25/1

Winner at Downpatrick (21.8f) in October. Fairly useful efforts in defeat next 2 starts but not at best when eleventh of 20 in listed handicap hurdle at Navan (25.2f) 19 days ago. Unlikely we've seen the best of him yet.

Form: 24-1240

Mozzies Sister^t¹⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-10| J: Shane Fitzgerald| T: D Queally

4/1

Dual bumper winner who made a successful debut over hurdles in a Galway maiden (2m) in October. Good third in Grade 2 at Navan followed 19 days ago (Fleur In The Park placed third) and this further increase in trip could well unlock more progress.

Form: 12-1213

The Big Westerner³²

Age: 5| Weight: 10-10| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: H De Bromhead

7/4

£120,000 5-y-o, Westerner mare. Won sole start in points (Mar 2024) and confirmed she's a useful prospect when following up on Rules debut in 12-runner novice hurdle at Punchestown (21.7f, good to soft) 32 days ago. Well worth her place at this higher level on that evidence.

Form: 1-1

Forecasts

The Big Westerner (7/4), Fleur In The Park (3/1), Mozzies Sister (4/1), Minella Sixo (4/1), Mister Pink (14/1), Prends Garde A Toi (25/1)

A winner of her only start between the Flags, THE BIG WESTERNER marked herself down as a useful prospect when making a winning hurdles debut at Punchestown (21.7f) 32 days ago. She can make a bold bid to maintain her 100% record quickly upped in class. Minella Sixo and Mozzies Sister are others to consider, along with Fleur In The Park if seeing out this longer trip.
